VERY HEAVY Period

Girls,

I haven't visited here much ... used to be very active in the FB forum. But I need some thoughts on this.

When I started with Boaz, I was having very heavy periods. One lasted 21 days. I was advised by my PCP to get a hysterectomy. After starting with Boaz, my periods got better. A lot better. Totally normal.

Then last month, I skipped a period. This month it is back -- with a vengeance. Like I am blleeding like crazy. Big clots. After 3 days of this, I am weak, shaky and even having mild haart palpitations. I emailed Boaz yesterday and he said we'd discuss it at our next appointment -- in a week. I feel like I could bleed to death by then. I emailed him again today and told him I didn't think it could wait.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I don't want a hysterectomy, but I can't keep bleeding like this. I'm already fighting anemia. And I can't take iron per Boaz. So, what am I supposed to do? Keep bleeding and get dangerously anemic. I'm afraid I'm going to end up in the ER without a choice about the hysterecomy if this doesn't stop soon.

I'm really scared.

I've missed you Melinda. So sorry though you are going through such a difficult time. I would call Lynn to see if she has an appt time she can work you into. I would really try to avoid the hysterectomy if possible. The 3 I have had since starting treatment have been pretty bad with heart palpitations but this last one had improved.  I would try to trust Boaz but certainly understand your fears!!! I am praying for you right now that you can have direction on doing what is best for you. Love and hugs to you.

So so sorry Melinda...I know this pain. It was before treatment, and I did have anemia, then it got dangerous and had to have a blood transfusion, with finally ending up in the emergency room for a hysterectomy. But I never had any good months as
you described, or skipped a month. I almost passed
out twice and had the heart palpitations and blood clots, like a flood at times that would really render me weak. I had to go to bed with towels wrapoed around me. We learned I had a very large noncancerous
fibroid tumor that the doctor said gave my body the appearance of a 5 month old pregnant woman. How I wish I would have been in treatment then. I think I would have avoided surgery, anemia, and the blood transfusion. I think Patty is right, call Lynn and get an appointment as soon as possible. Mine is not until next week or I would swap with you. Try to rest, really just stop everything and put your feet up. If possible, try to get some liver into your diet. And lots of red meat to help avoid anemia. You are in a good place for help. I will be praying for you. Love and hugs.

My periods, although improved in some ways (less brown spotting, NEVER ANY CRAMPS!, fewer clots) is still very heavy for one day of my cycle. Heavier than before treatment. I have missed periods, had short cycles, heaving bleeding, etc... I think that periods are a time that the body cleanses, but also, I am in perimenopause and periods do get heavier. Talk with Boaz. My friend has gallstones so she is thinking about having her gallbladder removed. The problem is NOT her gallbladder. Her gallbladder is a good organ! It is the underlying issues in her body that do not allow the gallbladder to work properly. Even though the bleeding is alarming, I think it is your body trying to rebalance. You got through a lot of bleeding before. (not that you should not be monitored by a someone locally if you feel you are losing too much).

We both know you are incredibly busy and I think sometimes as I follow you on Facebook, I can see that you and I try to live our lives like we are already back in balance. THIS IS OK, and in a lot of ways is helping you heal, BUT there are times when I really think I should be slowing down. I agree with Mrs. A. Please slow down, get that appointment moved up. And as cliched as it is, eat RED meat, 2 times per day until this resolves. I by no means am trying to dismiss your symptoms by telling you to eat red meat and put your feet up. But in all seriousness we are talking about removing your uterus. This is a serious thing. My mom had a lot of health complications after she had hers out. I hope you can avoid this.

You have had IC for a long time. It is great that you are so functional!! But there are still going to be areas that are challenging, health wise. For me, I am generally feeling better, but I am still dealing with dysibiosis which is the root of my IC. I still have bloating and other digestive symptoms. More healing to do. You have made great progress. Slow down and keep going!!

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Thanks, everyone. Mimi, you are right. I'm busy. I have a hard time slowing down. I hate my body when it holds me back. It's so frustrating. Today, I took a nap and laid down most of the day. Blood flow has slowed somewhat. I'm talking to Boaz in 30 minutes. Not sure what he can do, but I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all your prayers and support. I appreciate it so much.

Keep us posted. Yes, our bodies ARE slowing us down sometimes. BUT, they are trying to tell us something and we should probably listen!! Look at how much chronic illness is in this country. A country that never slows down.

If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

Talked to Boaz. He's upped my RP to 5. Plus I'm on 2 Siberian and 1 Rhodiola, which is to help compensate for all the blood loss. He said that there's not much he can do to actually stop the bleeding. So I pray. Not much else to do.

I'm supposed to email how I'm doing in the morning. Bleeding is not slowing down much at all.

I appreciate your prayers.

Did he have any ideas why your hormones are doing this at this phase in treatment? Praying you feel improvement in the morning.

He doesn't really know. I've had fibroids in the past, so he said it could be a new fibroid. Or, it can be a sign of my body rebalancing ... Since I missed my period last month and now am having this horrific one, maybe that's true. He doesn't really know. Sigh.

I pray you are better,; I know how scary this can be. I emailed you from your site if you need any help. Another great resource is myhomeremedies.com. If you look up under excessive menstruation there is a post on shepherds purse that you could ask Boaz about, which helps to stop the excessive bleeding. Also putting your feet up as much as possible all day was also mentioned. Please let us know how you are doing today. Love and hugs.

Melinda (((hug))) I think it is such a great sign that your body did better for a few months! It can be so scary when it seems to go back but that is all part of the ebb and flow. I think Mrs A is right if things get to the point of ER- there are probably some other naural things you can try first if that is ok with Boaz.

I'm resting today for the most part ... bleeding is till constant, but a little less heavy today. I'll look into the homeremedies.com site, too. Sigh. Just hoping that it stops soon. Thanks so much for all your support. It means so much.
