I am still in the same place I've been for awhile now which is urgency/frequency and some mild burning/itching. My daughter is now 5 months, at this point I was hoping to have my bladder feel like it did prior to pregnancy but in many ways its worse. I am mostly on list 1. I take gao ling, super, rp, and Boaz added sf 722 2 weeks ago. I am frustrated with this process because I am not seeing many changes. Every once in awhile I have clear discharge but other than that nothing. Boaz seems to think my body just needs time to recover from pregnancy. I get that but to me 5 months is some time! I am wondering if breastfeeding is actually making my bladder worse. Another mother told me that sometimes if one is deficient in certain things then they will become even more deficient in those things while breastfeeding since the baby will take all the nutrients etc that he/she will need. I have no idea if this is true. I often hear many with IC actually feel better while breastfeeding, I always seem to be the opposite :) anyway I am trying to remain positive but being a new mom and having to go to the bathroom this often is super hard. Just wish I could get out of this rut :( another thing that has me concerned lately is whether or not I will pass this on to my daughter, if anyone has any thoughts regarding if IC can be passed along it would be greatly welcomed, thank you!

Hey Marie- first off (((Hug))) I am so sorry you are having a rough time. it isn't fair that this is so difficult for some people and so much smoother.for others. It is no secret that I am pro- breastfeeding. I think the best thing you can do for your daughter's gut is keep nursing her. Every person is so unique and you just do not know how your body will react. Maybe you would feel better without nursing, maybe worse. I guess it is another one of these IC decisions that are tough because we don't know the outcome. However, we do know the outcome of nursing at least a year for the baby! As far as breastfeeding taking nutrients from moms, I just don't think there is any evidence of that. Maybe there is but I have not come across it. Chances are, your ICAMA diet is so much better than most nursing mothers's diets. Make sure you are drinking extra water because that can be an issue. 5 months is so long but in the process of healing from IC, it is unfortunately not that long. And PLEASE this is just my educated opinion- not a judgement on those who did not breastfeed. LIfe is just a series of decisions and we all do the best we can.

Thanks! Just wish I felt better already and worry so much for my daughter. I never want her to deal with any of these issues.

I hear you. I have horrific fear as a mother that my kids would end up like this. But we can only do what we can do. Feed them as well as possible, keep them away from abx, medication, the Pill if we can etc.

Hazy, i have 3 daughters ages 26, 32 and 33. So far none of them have IC. It will hugely benefit your daughter with all the knowledge you now have. You have a great opportunity to teach her good eating habits and monitoring the drugs she ingests. I wish I had known all this when I was raising my daughters. I only nursed one of mine. Wished I had nursed them all!!! I am so very sorry you are still having pain. Our bodies are really influenced by our hormones. I have so much faith in Boaz though and hope he can get you some relief soon. Think about you all the time and that beautiful little daughter of yours. Keep hanging in there. Hugs to you.

Hi Hazy, Can five months have already passed? Wow! She is such a cutie.....I love the FB photos! I had my relapse after my second daughter while breastfeeding. For whatever reason, switching to having MountainValley Water delivered to my home and drinking only that made a HUGE difference in my pain levels. I realized I had been drinking so much plastic and goodness knows what else! I was determined to at least make it a year breastfeeding Cecilia and I made it about 14 months. My hormones were still in flux about six months after breast feeding was over so.......You WILL feel less pain, however, it took me awhile after the hormones were fluxuating to experience it;) Sending love, Katie

Thanks Katie :) yeah I don't mind breastfeeding and will continue cause I know how good it is! Hopefully soon my bladder will adjust and I hope my deficiencies don't affect my daughter :)

Hey there Katie! How are you? Is it almost time for that new baby?

I felt worse when I stopped nursing- I think breastfeeding balances my hormones. it depends on each person's particular hormone issues.

Hey Deir! (And lovely ladies;) I am doing very well! I have only 8 weeks left to go....... This pregnancy has absolutely flown! I am still teaching full time and will until about a week before I deliver. My bladder has done beautifully and my heart has as well. I still have some muscle burning and tachycardia which we are watching, but I hired a doula, took my hypnobirthing classes and am finishing putting my nursery together;) I am sure the hormone fluxuations will affect me for awhile after I deliver, but at least I am mostly comfortable now. I think about you often and sincerely hope you are well.
