Forums:
Hi everyone. I don't come on the forum very often anymore, but I wanted to share what I have found with my cats' food. I have two cats, one who had FIV when he was born (passed along in utero from his FIV-positive mother). Long story short, I entered him into an experimental study when he was a kitten and he no longer has FIV. He is now a happy old boy, living WAY past his original life expectancy. So yay! However, through all of that treatment, he was on A LOT of antibiotics. Since then, his digestion has been compromised and he would frequently vomit after eating. This guy vomited every day for several years, and we could just not figure out how to help him any more for so long. I do give him probiotics when he is cooperative. But I just wanted to share what I've found regarding cat food. I have always given him the "natural" varieties of cat food. (He is very picky about what he'll eat.. clearly because many foods upset his poor tummy). But I have recently switched again at the suggestion of a friend. Grains REALLY bother him and are not good for our pets in general. I switched to Taste of the Wild, and he no longer vomits after eating. His puke spells now only consist of hairballs, NOT food! I just wanted to share with anyone else who might be looking for better options to feed your pets. I know feeding our pets a completely natural diet like they would eat in the wild isn't always possible. But I have found this is a great option... at least for my boys.
Thank you Tinkerbell! Our
Thank you Tinkerbell! Our golden retriever began having seizures which came more often over time. We switched to a grain free dog food by Wellness, and he has not had 1 seizure in 7 months! We are so thankful! And he loves this food!
