Hello everyone
I know it's probably a good idea to start list one before my appointment. However, I can only eat four items on list one (lettuce cucumber salmon and potatoes) I feel a bit concerned just sticking to those foods for any long period of time. I've tried to add in other list one items but it's never worked. How long did you do the diet before treatment? Could you eat all the different foods. I am extremely food sensitive and get bladder pain/urination pIn/terrible pain in my right hand side and vulvodynia if I eat the wrong thing :(
Hi Katie. I started a month
Hi Katie. I started a month before and was able to eat alot of it with only a few exceptions but I had also been grainfree for a month before that. If there are other foods on the other lists you can tolerate With exception to fruits, dairy or sweets I would say go ahead with them. When you meet with Boaz he will work with you on that along with the herbs. Most importantly I would stay with only the fats and seasonings in list one. No coconut oil, soy, etc. also if you take supplements he will more than likely remove all those. I wish you well!!! Boaz is a wonderfuldoctor.
Thanks Headley! Yes I can eat
Thanks Headley! Yes I can eat a few other veggies like carrots and pak choi. Ive been grainfree for a long time and was on the GAPs diet before this. In general at the moment Im just eating stuff I react to because otherwise I am stuck on 6 foods (I dont eat any junk or grains or anything just veggies and meat). My guts are in such a state right now that its difficult to know what to do!
How do you know what foods
How do you know what foods affect you? I always have urgency - since November, and my frequency depends on how much I drink. Sometimes my frequency/urgency is worse at times, but I've never been able to correlate it to food. I've started list 1 also, but I have no idea if anything on it is affecting me. Did you keep a food diary? Before November, I just had frequency for 9 years...but nothing too terrible. I could eat/drink whatever I wanted with no affect, exception of caffeine and alcohol..but that makes everyone have more frequency. I've been on the IC diet and candida diet since January. I recently got tested for yeast though, and tested negative. So confused. I just don't want to keep eating things if they're making it worse, but I'm not even sure if food affects me.
Hi Katie,
Hi Katie,
I also have a very sensitive stomach and intolerant to most foods not just on list 1, but all of them. When I started treatment I had also modified my own diet a month before my first appointment. When I discussed my food with Dr. M she didn't make me try to stick to the few foods I could tolerate. That is what is nice about this protocol, that it is so individualized. Make sure to discus this particular aspect with Dr. B to make adjustments as needed. Food is such a tricky thing and agree you can't survive just on 3 things from list 1. That would be impossible.
and for Brittney, after eliminating foods and trying to add things back in you may start to notice things that bother you. I didn't realize what was bothering me until doing the eliminations and starting the herbs. Some people don't ever really notice a huge difference with different foods, but many do. You usually know it is from food or different products when a flare begins sometimes within 30 min of eating something that didn't agree with you. You may want to start a food journal of you haven't already and keep track of your symptoms associated with different foods to see if you can recognize any pattern.
I'm the same cprince! My
I'm the same cprince! My flares start 30 mins after eating particular foods and mainly manifest as vulvodynia or painful urination. Are you able to tolerate more foods now?
