Hi All,

I am 41 yr old male. I did the protocol for about 1 1/2 yrs in 2012-13 and it was helping a lot. Since then too much travel and other life events so I wasn't able to stick to it.

Again started few months back but we had a baby 3 months back. Sleepless nights and too much work load, so again not able to spend time on cooking etc. Dr Brizman has suggested that I should consume 70% protein.

We do our grocery from whole foods market and only buy fresh items. I am not against buying packaged or frozen stuff but just don't know right or ok ones.

Can someone please suggest me what healthy protein items I can include in my daily eating ?. They can be outside of whole foods but preferably requiring less or no cooking but ok if they help me put on weight ( I am too thin ). I eat meat so any good brands on chicken, turkey slices etc

I have also been reading about super foods like kale, spirulina etc. Any experience with that ?

Thanks
Sid

HI! I always grill a giant pack of checken breasts each week. One night, we have chicken caeser salad and then I use it for lunch or snacks other days.

I always have a box of premade grass fed hamburgers and eat that for lunch about 4 times a week. Again, I grill that.

Steak is quick and delicious although expensive.

If youa re at a loss, have eggs for a meal.

Hi, Congratulations re the baby!  My husband and I found the first six months with our oldest to be very hard.  After that, it gets easier.  This diet has led to a pretty simple routine in our house. For dinner, we eat either steak, chicken, ground meat or fish every night.  It's actually pretty easy after you get use to it.  I put the fish on a plank and bbq it.  Leave the plank soaking in the sink when you go to work and then when you get home, plop the fish on it and grill it.  (At first I was worried about the smoke on the fish affecting my bladder but it hasn't). Or bake it in the oven.  A fillet for 4 usually cooks in 16 minutes at a high temp.   For the steaks, I sear them in butter in a frying pan and then leave the steaks in the pan and put them in the over at a high temp. Depending on the thickness of the steak, it can be done in 8-10 minutes. Plus, the butter adds calories.   I just put the ground beef in a fry pan and it takes very little time to cook.  The chicken I bake in the oven with some salt and pepper. I usually cook my vegatables in a frying pan on the top of the stove or I will grill them on the bbq.   I have found the following to be helpful when I'm in a time pinch: 1.  Ziplock microwave steam bags.  You can buy them at Target.  I chop up my veggies and put them in one of these bags and steam them for 4 minutes in the microwave.  (I know the Brizmans are against microwaving but sometimes you have to do what you have to do).  I find myself doing this for breakfast.  2. Buy baked potatoes at Wendy's drive through on my way home and serve with left over meat and veggies. Now, that is a quick meal.  3.  Slather a roasting chicken with butter and roast it.  Then keep it in the fridge for lunches. 4.  Cook enough meat for a meal or 2 the next day.  5. Make an omlette with the "eggtastic" which they sell for 12 bucks on Amazon.  It's a ceramic container that you plop an egg into along with your veggies and cheese (If you can eat that) and cook in the microwave for 2 minutes - presto it's ready. Also, a good option for breakfast.  6. Shred a cucumber and mix it into yogurt, adding a bit of oil and pepper. This is good for lunch.  7.  Buy cooked shrimp or crab as it's ready to eat immediately.  8.  Whole Foods (in my town anyway) has a very bland but good roast beef.  Buy some of that for snacks or lunches.  Speaking about Whole Paycheck,  I spent some time researching the availability of organic meat in my town and I now shop at a butcher - same quality of meat at a cheaper price without the effort it takes to shop at WFs.  9.  Those hamburgers Dier speaks of above are a great option.  10.  Fat Burger.  Their burgers are 100% beef.  Get it wrapped in lettuce.  I think their fries have gluten in them so I would avoid those.  HANG IN THERE!
