Hey.  I just wanted to know if anyone else feels like they're 94 years old.  Seriously.  I have this crazy pain down my spine.  Anyone else?

I think the back pain is more related to the toxins in our body. They tend to settle in certain places also it is comone to have back pain with bladder pain. My father is 80 and he can run circles around me I feel you. I live in FL and I feel like all the old people here are in better shape then I am. I have no stamina.
Massage and chiro is nice but it doesn't seem to help long term because it is the toxins and they need to be flushed run its corse.  The herbs are going to clease the lymph and eventually it will all go away. Something you may try is to get a crock pot get some hand towles big enough to lay across your back. Make sure there white cottton. Roll them up and wet them, ring them so there not sopping and put them in the pot to get hot. Then have someone place it on your back or stand up and wrap them around your waste. I supose you could also use a microwave for this but not as long lasting. The moist heat will help again temperary thing but you can do it as needed and it's not costing much. It will help break things up. Alos nothing better then an strong jet on your shower a shower is good for lymph flow. it's nice and light. Sometimes I use epson salts in my bath but ask matia first if you can do that. THe epson salts are amazing. If you can't do baths you can always soak the cloth in it and do it like a sponge bath but the water needs to  be very hot to melt the epson salts. I useually boil a pot of water and then add the salts and stir it till its desolved. Then I cool it till it's a desired tem.

I remember around the time that I began to have Ic troubles it was related to this persistent back pain. I had terrible back pain- it seemed to be deep in the muscles around my lower back/sacrum-pinching pain! and deep in the lumbar area off to the right side. I think Nicole is right maybe it is toxic crap!  nothing external other than heat temporarily worked for the pain for rme.  After I worked out some layers of toxic stuff - I can say that I do not feel it anymore. or just on ocassion and its fleeting!   I too have felt that totally feeble and weak/exhausted sensation. That has gotten better as well as the brain fog. I remember a feeling of intense heaviness in my limbs like I was walking through molasses a sensation of  vertigodizziness and feeling like I had the flu all the time- feverish, sweating but feeling totally coldat the same time,  nauseaous, dizzy, vague spreading digusting pains/aches  in my joints/muscles. As the toxic stuff leaves- each layer reveals  a little bit more energy and a different awareness of wellbeing. It will go away and your energy will return! Mary

I have had extreme back pain which actually started before I was diagnosed with IC.  I had so much inflammation that you could see and feel the swelling especially on the left side.  The spine was also very tender.  I still have the back pain but it is getting better.  I did try accupuncture and chiro and physio and massage.  I have spent tons of money but I think that what has helped the most is the treatment with Matia which I started 5 months ago.  Matia said it would get better as time goes on and it is getting better.  I still worry about it and do bring it up with my Doctor but she says as long as it is improving not to worry.  I am a long distance patient so was not able to get accupuncture with Matia.Kriste

Hi Kriste!  I have battled back pain as well that was absolutely horrible--mine was centered around my tailbone/sciatica, so I understand the back thing.  In any case, I just met a woman who has pain and inflammation that moves along and up and down her spine, kind of like you are talking about.  What is that?  I've wanted to help her, but she's not convinced to try Matia yet.  She has thyroid issues, migraines, and chronic yeast infections.  No ic, at least not yet.  What did the docs say was the issue with your spine?thanks

For about a year before my bladder gave out, it seems that my back was getting progressively worse.  My back would just feel like it was burning after sitting at work all day.  Sitting caused me pain.  The spine was was so sensitive from top to bottom and radiated to the left.  The lower left side of my back was hard to the touch and swollen.  The Doctor just said it was muskulosleletal and gave me antiinflammatories.  I never did take them although I did take advil quite often as I did for alot of my pains which I think may have contributed to making my body unwell.  I have not taken advil or tylenol since June 2008.  Which is remarkable becasue I also would take large doses when I got my period which has also improved so much from the first month that I started with Matia.  As I have been working with Matia my pain has progressively gotten better.
