The Second Brain by Michael Gershon is a fascinating book. I came aross this book while doing a search on the connection between anxiety and constipation. I know there is one I could feel the direct connection between my pannic attacks and my bowl movements. Not only being constpated but when i would go from constipation to releasing the old poo so to speak it would induce a painnic attack from the nasty toxins that were being backed up inside me for so long.

I thought I would share this book with you I just bought it on Amazon and I can't wait to get it.  I payed 11. with shipping just incase you all want to check it out. Here is a link on some fun facts about the gut.http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Wexler3.html

Yes, I remember reading something a while back about the intestines being a second brain in the body, having just as many receptor's as the brain or something like that.  It was very interesting.  I too have noticed a direct correlation between what is going on with me bowel wise and anxiety.  Tends to affect my ability to calm down at night and sleep as well.  All very interesting.
