Hi,

I started the Superdophilus and Rehmanniae Peonniae last week while in California.  I had a few flares and assumed they were from poor diet choices while traveling.  When I returned home my flares continued to get worse and have lasted for several days.  I did switch to opeing the Rehmanniae P capsules around the time my flares worsened.  To further complicate matters, I accidentally drank the wrong water around this time.
Today, I am still in pain and have made no diet mistakes since yesterday afternoon.  Have any of you had trouble with pain due to either of these products?

I have had troubles with probiotics.  The last month I have been off of the probiotics and have been much happier due to much less pain.  I had a terrible amount of burning and have very little now since changing to different herbs.  Matia wanted to add back the bifido at last appointment and I sure did not want to have it as I am enjoying a little more normalcy without it.  At some point I will have to get back on them as I think they are good so hopefully I will be more ready for them.

rehmanniae peonniae did NOT agree with me AT ALL. i kept hearing about what a calming effect it had for so many people, but it totally flared me up within a few days. matia tried switching the doses for me but that didn't help, so she took me off of it and the flaring subsided. then at a later time, she introduced rehmanniae scuttelerae (sp?) and that too made me feel crappy. and a few times, she tried adding them back in in different combos, but no dice. so, at this point, i assumed i was done with rehmanniae (and pretty happy about that because now just looking at the bottle makes me anxious). but, i have been really struggling through long flares recently and multiple, multiple formula changes to try and get me back on track (current flares are TOTALLY unrelated to rehmanniae p which i took months ago), so matia decided to take a new tack, and guess what herbs i have to start taking? three new herbs with rehmanniae in them! so, your post is really timely for me because i was actually just going to post to ask if anyone has had a bad reaction to any rehmanniae related herbs at one point in their treatment and then later took other ones with that same ingredient and did well. if anyone can speak to that, i would be so grateful. i keep looking at the new herb bottles and getting totally nervous. but, as for your flare sharon, i know it is scary, but i can tell you that matia might play around with dosages for a bit, but if she sees that you are really not doing well on that herb, she will take you off it and the flare WILL go away. just be sure to email her to let her know how you are feeling.

You don't know how much I needed your posts.  Matia is so sweet and I already sent her an email yesterday.  If I send another one tonight, at least she won't think I am the only person who had this problem.  Being a new patient, I don't want to appear to be "high maintenance."  I just can't stand this flare.  I also noticed that the pain went up one hour after taking my herbs/ probiotics.  Thanks.

Sharon,Matia would want you to email her as you need to. In the beginning I had to email her 3 or 4 times a day. I started on 4 RP a day and had an immediate flare. She adjusted me to 2 and I felt better. I have found that making my emails short and to the point is helpful for her. Emailing can be a confusing form of communication, at least to me. If I ask one question at a time, the answer is easier for me to understand. I also change the subject line with each reply, so she knows it's a new email. I hope your flare is over soon. Tammy

I did really well on rhemmania peonae but then I reached a point where it was not really helping me at all and I was flaring. I got switched to a few differnt things one of them was rhemmania scullteria and it was not helping at all. This the first time where I was getting super worried because I had been doing pretty well or so I thought and I felt like I was in the middle of no where and had lost the bread crumb trail forever-  But that was not the case-it was just a stretch of finding where to go next.  it is normal to reach a point in treatment where the herbal formula isn't right either right away or after awhile and Matia just keeps playing with it until she brings the flare down and finds the right combo for you. I was on the megadolphilus in the beginning and did great with it then- can't say I did for the bif at all but eventually we worked up to it but recently we tried to add back in the megdolphilus ( we took it out)  and I reacted terribly to that. We took it out again. So it really depends on where your body is at. and whle I can't tell what I need at what point - my body is giving away clues constantly that I write down and those patterns of symtoms are the clues to Matia for what needs to happen next. right now for me my body let her know - its all about the yeast just like it was in the beginning and back about 4 months ago it seemed like we were tonifying or strengthening my reproductive system or something with the rhemmania cause my periods got better- but at a certain point the rhemmania was not doing it for me and it may be that a 5 months from now I'll be back on it and it will feel good in my body.It blows me away how much things can change and how the tolerations can fluctuate. You'll find the right combo - just make good notes and pay attention to your reactions. somtimes I wait 24 -48 hours to see if it works. somtimes it calms down into the right thing but sometimes its very loudly the wrong thing right away in a magor flare and I let her know. probiotics can irritate but they are good medicine. she might reduce your dose or add in later and you can work up to more later.  sorry to hear you are hurting but you are on your way now. healing energy to youMary

Sometimes Matia will want us to wait out the flare because she feels something will work itself out quickly and other times she stops to change the protocal. It all depends on the kinds of symptoms/reaction we are having. That's why it's so important to keep good notes and be able to explain in as much detail as possible how we are feeling. I know (from experience) that this isn't always easy to do. Esp. in the beginning. Hope this helps. Tammy

I so love you guys and this site!  Where else can one find so much love, hope and healing.  I may be feeling poorly but I have faith that better days are ahead!Excellent advice about taking notes.  I am confident that Matia knows what she is doing and will find the right combination for me.  If others have gotten better, than it is only a matter of time before my body will too :)

Hi all-I have been in treatment just over 2 months and was cruising along, actually astounded by my improvement bladder-wise. Then, a week ago, I crashed and am currently emailing with Matia to try and figure it out. It's been terrible and is only getting worse. After feeling so great and not changing anything in my regimen I am baffled, frightened, and in so much pain and discomfort. Needless to say I am discouraged, especially because it's all a mystery. This "flare" has brought on symptoms I've never had before such as when I urinate I feel 100 times worse afterward. I have severe urgency and am finding no relief for any second of the day. I feel like I can't get all my pee out, it that makes sense. I have die-off symptoms in combination with all this like sore throat/itchiness/jaw pain but these things are tolerable. If only I could have a second of relief. When I lay down at night I don't last more than 5 or 10 minutes before I have to get up again. I don't know what to do. This is like when I first got sick and was drugging myself to sleep, but now I obviously can't do that. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as calming techniques? I'm panicking. I am really struggling and frustrated not knowing why this is happening and Matia not yet knowing either. Anything would help. Thanks :)-whitney

Whitney this is for sure scary and frustrating.  I am a year into treatment and this has happened to me in the past couple of months.  I felt like I had to pee non stop and had burning all the time.  My sleep was getting worse due to having to go to the bathroom.  We went through many changes.  I have to admit I was losing hope and so was my family.  I had to cut back on work yet again so not good as my benefits have been cut off.  About a month ago I just stopped the probiotics and was having some relief from that. so now Matia has put me on a different protocol and am doing much better.  In a couple of weeks if things keep going this way I will increase my hours at work again.  It is a puzzle but stick with it and you will get through it.  Listen to your body and relay that to Matia I know you and her will figure it out.

It's always nice to know you're not alone in the puzzling experiences. Matia decided to switch my protocol and the herbs should be here tomorrow. It's strange how over the past 2 weeks I just kind of got more used to the discomfort. I'm by no means feeling good, but it's not as bad as it was the first night it started and completely caught me off guard. Hope the new stuff works some magic! Although I have to admit Im a little worried because I've seen people post they've had trouble with it. OH well. I'm glad you're feeling better. Work is one of the hardest things to handle in this whole picture. I always wish I could just focus on getting well and not have to worry if I'll have to push through a day at work feeling terrible.

Sharon, when I took my first dose of these I had a lot of pain a few hrs later. Becos I had swallowed the capsules with a sip of water be4 a meal I decided on the next dose to do something different, so I ate my meal, then opened all the caps and mixed the powder with half a cup of water and hey preso no pain at all! This worked for me so maybe worth a go. My theory is that having food first and diluting the powder well works as a buffer, Hope Whitney things are better for u now. A hot wheat bag or heating pad really soothes pain for me.

Hey girls,  I just wanted to follow-up on my progress.  On Friday, I had a phone appointment with Matia.  She is going to approach things from another anngle.  I ordered three different herbs and will let you know how they work.  I have been feeling better this weekend.
