Hi All,
I am a new member and have been very sick for the past few months with c. difficile. It is a interstinal toxin that eats at your lining an can kill you very fast. WELL after the doctors gave me antibiotics that started the c diff, they treated me with me antiobiotics. Here I am now a month out from the second relapse and I am "better" than I was 3 months ago but still have very very bad pain and discomfort. My sister recommended this website and here I am. I have had IBS all my childhood so the doctors just say now my IBS is back and to deal with it. They don't know what to do and I am in tears every day in pain. Meanwhile I have a new baby, a 3 years daughter and I must return to work soon. Has anyone gone through this and gotten better with diet NOT more antiobiotics. Those little pills are horrible and my life will be forever changed b/c of this experienced. I am taking probiotics and have been on boiled chicken, avacados, turkey, squash, rice and alomond butter. I am not sure about the nuts and may eliminate them. Thoughts? Probiotics recommendations? ( I am taking lactobacilus and s. boulardi which is a good yeast to prevent the bad toxins from coming back but it is a yeast not sure about this one but highly recommended by many with c difficile) Diet recommendations?
Thanks
Andrea, those of us here are
Andrea,
those of us here are in treatment with Dr. Brizman are not on antibotics but the diet alone is not going to restore your health. Everyone has a unique set of herbs and supplements depeding on there symptoms that is ever changing. There isn't really a way we can sugest what would be right for you.
I sugest you call in the office and make an apt. Matia can restore your health. As for the diet I would start on list one until you can get in to see her. I would stop the squash and the almond butter nuts are deffinatly somthing that is added in later.
Dr.Brizmans disertation is about how the small intestine being out of balance is the root cause so you are in good hands here. The leaky gut and everything eventually is restored as you can see if you read peoples stories this is a journey and none of them are the same. You have come to the right place and I wish the best for you. I do hope you decide to go in treatment with Dr. Brizman she is a blessing.
Bless your sister
for telling you about this site. You have found the right place to get help. I agree with Nicole. Matia is the person that can help you back to good health. She won't treat you unless she feels she can help you. I would call Bomamed and talk to Rachel. She is very helpful. I had IBS (mild case) for years and all of my symptoms have gone away since starting treatment with Matia last November. I wish you all best. Tammy
Getting Better
Andrea, I think that you can fully recover from your health problems. My youngest child was a baby when I came down with IC. My other children were 1 and 3. It is so hard to be sick with young children. Thankfully, you have come to the right place. My advice would be to order Matia's book (dissertation). When I read it, I felt like I was reading my own case history. So many peices of my health puzzle started to fit together. Matia specializes in treating IC and IBS. When it comes to your health, you want to find a specialist that is getting results. I haven't found anyone in the country with her level of expertise. I would definitley give her office a call to ask questions regarding your specific case. You will get better!Sharon
Andrea
What caused the c.d.? U said antibiotics? I don't understand how? c.d. is an infection. I have leaky gut from too many ABs - mine is much better with Matia's treatment. I agree with Nicole - diet alone is not enough. Matia has specialized in IC and related probs like IBS for about 15 yrs - she is the best person to help you, and her advice will help yr whole family so that they don't develop these kinds of illnesses in future. I would also recommend reading her dissertation to understand the causes of illnesses like IBS and the reasons for her treatment approach.
how are you doing?
Just wondering how you are doing and if you made any kind of decision yet? My advice is begin doctoring with Matia asap, it is very difficult to navigate yourself through an alternative regimen. According to Matia's dissertation, even good things, like herbs and supplements, given at the wrong time in the wrong amounts can exacerbate the problem. But don't make the decision lightly, realize what you are committing to time and cost wise, and that it is not an overnight cure. You many find more info here: icaroadtorecovery.com which explains more of the process. I've had IBS all my life as well and I wish I had found Matia a lot sooner.
