so funny that you just posted this... i am having a lot of tight/sore jaw, headaches, sinus aches the last few days. i assume it's die off related, but was going to verify with matia because was worried maybe headache stuff could be related to too much vitamin d. not sure. but yes, definitely feeling this big time.

When I initially started my treatment journey before finding Matia- I visited a naturpath. One of the questions he asked me was if I had any tightness in my jaw or if I suffered from TMJ or teeth grinding.  I do and my Dad does too. Apparently this is again related to the Large Intestine meridian being out of balence. I just looked them up and both small and large intestine merdian run right through the jawline!  Has anyone ever had sore gums in treatment? My teeth are feeling crazy sensitive in places. Like if I eat soemthing cool or if I brush too vigorously its super tender.Mary

My head and jaw are very sore. I have a teeth grinding problem (and a mouth guard to wear at night)
I can't suggest anything helpful, and I'm too early in treatment to be able to say "Don't wory, that used to happen to me, but it never happens now"
Hopefully it will improve. Are we allowed to take Tylenol?

It's funny, most of the things you post, I'm also experiencing. Good to know I'm not alone! lol.

I also have a lot of trouble with TMJ, migraine headaches, tight jaw muscles, sinus problems, etc.  When my sinuses are worse, my TMJ is worse also.  The megadophilus seems to make all that stuff worse.  I have had a lot of problems with sore gums too.  I think it is due to cleansing.  I sometimes get sores in my mouth, tenderness in gums around teeth, etc.  Sometimes salt water helps if it is due to the cleanse.  Sometimes I just have to wait for it to go away.

I didn't have TMJ but I was a serious night-grinder before I started with Matia. So bad that I would shred the soft night guards in about 6 months. So then I changed over to a hard night guard. My dentist told me that he'd had patients try all sorts of things to break the night grinding cycle and he didn't know of any whom had been successful. Well I am pleased to let you know that I rarely night grind anymore (I know because I wake myself up when I do it). It only seems to happen now when I am doing a serious cleansing. Every now and then my gums will also get inflammed, but that only lasts a day or 2, same with the sensitive teeth. I also used to suffer from terrible migranes, but I don't think mine were connected to my night grinding, I think they were yeast related. They would usually receed if I took an extra probiotic dose. Hey everyone!I have the tmj, jaw popping noises, very sensitive gums and teeth because of gum recession, and sinus pain problems.  Depending on where I am in my cycle and what I'm taking, these things get flared and then calm down.  I also notice that when I'm really constipated, I have more sinus congestion and soreness.  Does anyone have a history of sinus infections?  Before ic, my main problem was chronic sinusitis.  I'm looking forward to the day these pains will all go away.

Oh wow, I can't believe how many people have this problem (or I guess I can)! I have had TMJ (and migraines) longer than any other problem, actually since I had a cavity filled in middle school and they gave me a shot and my jaw totally froze up and I started bawling and they had to massage it. I blame them....haha. Right before I got really sick with IC my TMJ was horrible. Now I see that it was a bit of a warning sign that things were bad. I would grind, but moreover I would clench my teeth all night and during the day without even realizing it! This caused more headaches and pain. It got so bad I felt like I couldn't open my mouth. I am glad to report I don't clench like this anymore, albeit every once and a while. The pain/tightness has decreased significantly aside from intense die-off periods when my jaw aches a lot. Teeth sensitivity is also an issue, particularly to cold. Sometimes it's so bad I can't chew anything that's been in the fridge! It's like a shock through my mouth. My gums have improved greatly since starting treatment, they used to get inflamed all the time.

I'm happy to add myself to the list of night-teeth-grinder.So funny to read that we are so many!It is so interesting to me to see that this is related to the intestins! Where do you guys get so brilliantly informed!!?I don't grind very often anymore, I used to do it nightly before starting the treatment. It's hard for me to keep track of how often it happens because I don't wake myself up, I only wake up my boyfriend lol. And he is not around every night, so can't really keep track of that.:-)

Mary/Honeybee,Where do you find this info on the meridians and where they run through, etc.?? I've tried googling it before and don't get much.  Do share!  Thanks!

http://www.shen-nong.com/eng/principles/whatmeridian.htmlI have a little tiny booklet I consult sometimes for meridans and I got back during my massage therapy education days when we learned about Chinese Medicine- but if you do a little online research you can find some cool sites out there for the layperson/student. There is a great book I would recommend to all and I think you would especially love it as it is very whole food/veggie centered and wonderful introduction to TCM kind of healing with diet. It's called Healing with Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford. There is a book about chinese medicine and acupuncture that is supposedly really good called The Web that has no Weaver.YAY for learning!Mary

oh My Jaw cracks so loud you can hear it clear across the room. It happens every 10 min and it kills. I don't know if i grind my teeth at night i clench my fists I wouldn't be supprised if I did. Matia says this is very common and it takes time to go away so I stopped asking about it. My head is tight all the time some days are btter then others this has taken a long time to improve the head thing but I do have my better days now.
