I have been using Whole Foods brand and I dont like it, it leaves me hair dry and brittle..yuck.

I have tried a few different ones.  I use the jojoba now because it should be good for your scalp and I mine has been sooooo dry.  I tried the Green Tea too, and the conditioner but my hair has become so greasy I just don't use any conditioner anymore.  I haven't reacted to them as far as I know but they do seem to have alot of ingredients-not as many as some but you may want to check with Matia-I would hate for you to be in anymore pain than you already are!

I use Jason's Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner and have been really happy with it. I leave the conditioner in for a few minutes and my hair is so soft. That being sad, though, I am seeing Matia for the first time on Friday, so I will ask her if it's okay to use this brand, and I may dry out once I start on the herbs...

For those of you who missed the conference call, here is the hair info.  Jason's Kids Only shampo and conditioner were recommended by Matia.  I noticed one of the ingrediants was alovera gel, which I thought was not an approved ingredient.   I wasn't sure which one of Nature's Gate shampoo's were recommended.   Nicole's hair protocol sounds the best to me.

As I was drying my hair, I realized it was very greasy.  I have been using Thera Neem shampoo and conditioner.  It seems to weight my hair down and emphasize my roots too.  Since we were taking family pictures, I used a "forbidden" shampoo.  I couldn't beleive how clean and fluffy my hair felt.  I am going to try another one of the shampoo suggestions on this site.

It is by  natures gate, I get it at whole foods.

Matia just approved this new shamppo, Thera Neem Organic Volumizing Therape Shampoo for Normal to Oily Hair & Sensitive Scalps.  I will let you know how it goes.

I DID NOT Tolerate thea neem's products it BURNED my urethra and not just for a little while

ugh--i HATE regular theraneem--my hair looks so greasy!  how did the ultra volumizing one go?

The Thera Neem Volumizing shamppo is not that great.  My hair is is about 50% less greasy than when I used regular Thera Neem.  After my hair is blow dried, it looks like I have a ton of styling products on my scalp.

Hi - I've tried the Jasons- - but this is so much better (and approved) - Mastey brand - in the beauty supply store.  There are so many beauty supply brands now that are sulfate-free like this one.  For conditioner, I use a "leave-in" - mine is brand-name "mop" - a bit inconvenient , I shampoo in the shower, then get out, put the conditioner in a bit and then RINSE IT OUT.  I used to use gloves through this whole process (non-latex) - but now I don't have to...

After several weeks of use, I have concluded that the Thera Neem  Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner is just as oily as the origional Thera Neem.  Matia approved Nature's Gate Aloe Vera Shampoo.  It has sulfate chemicals and is affordable.   The  shampoo and conditioner recommended by Nicole is definitely better for you.

I have to say I am starting to love my hair again. I just need a new haircut and maybe some highlights. I think its starting to grow back ? It's shinny and dark no greese :D the shampoo/ conditioner to blame I don't know but I do know it makes my hair soft. My hair isn't as curly as it should be yet though and right now since my hair isn't quite as full as it used to be I am imbracing those curls. I love how soft my hair is with the shampoo and conditioner. Also I like the price. 17 for coditioner seems high but it lasts a LONG time. I also use a little for styling those frizies :D

Now the shampoo you might think its weird but its a soft bar. I use it on my head and body. IT WORKS GREAT!!
i used to get the liquid but I didn't feel like it got my hair clean like the bar. It's called black soap.
http://africaimports.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=M-S500&eq=&Tp=
hope you enjoy they both last a while. I put mine in a toperwear dish in my shower so it doesn't all dislove because it's very soft. :)

Nicole, can you let me know what one you use? There are a lot of different black soaps to choose from from there site. I ordered the Dudu Osun 7oz one, but when I came back and looked at your different post on the black soap, I wasn't sure I got the right one. You said it was 4oz. So maybe I didn't get the right one, or they changed it. They all have different ingredients, and I would like to get the one that didn't bother you.THANKS!Kelsey

I wouldn't use that one because it has fregrance and a few other things that do not look ic friendly. they shouldn't be in a wrapper with a lable i hope this helps

I am trying to order the soap, which one is it, there are a lot of different balck  soaps. Is it this one with this ingrediants:http://africaimports.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=M-S301&eq=&Tp= INGREDIENTS:African Black Soap Base, African Shea Butter, Oats, Aloe, Plantain Extract, Vitamin E, Essential Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Palm Ash, Rosemary Extract, Iron Oxides. Or is it this one:http://africaimports.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=M-S500&eq=&Tp=there are no ingredients list, it just says this: a natural African approach to keeping your skin clean and healthyThis African black soap is soft, organically shaped, delicately textured and exudes a natural, earthy smell. It's ideal for cleaning your hands, face and body, and it can even be lathered up and used as a shampoo. Hand made in Ghana, with Roasted cocoa (Chocolate) Pods, Plantain Skin, Ash, Palm Oil, Water. This soap is available in half lb. kegs. 8 oz. Pkg. M-S500

At first I ordered 3 black soaps that were not the ones Nicole uses, and I got them yesterday and they REEK! The one Nicole uses is the second one... the one with Roasted cocoa... it is $7.90 for a 8 oz. I should be getting mine today... I hope it works as a shampoo too... : )

Were you able to pay with a credit card, or did it make you do some weird thing with a check.  I did not order because they wanted me to send my SS number and a blank check to them.  I did not click through after that because I was not sure what to do.

omg...dont ever send them a blank check or give your ss number.  thats insane!  I am sure you know that though.  Those people are crazy!!xo

I didn't. I was just wondering if there was another way to pay cause I thought that was very weird!

Hopeful's picture

It didn't ask anything like that at all... it was just a normal thing to pay with your credit card, then they email you a receipt. How weird, that would scare me too... Well what is going on? They seemed like a really nice site to me?

nicole's picture
nicole

I have always used my credit card never had a problem with them. I don't give my SS number out no way that sounds weird that has never happened to me. I have been ordering from them over a yr now no problems.
I am sorry Hopefull about the wrong order I do hope you like the new soap it's not a strong smell.

yes it is the second one you posted. the ingredients are there you see them cocoa plantain skin . ash. pam oil water. It lathers up nice I love it in my hair and body. I know it sounds strange because it's not a liquid but it is so soft and i have to put it in touperware or it would just melt away very soft. my hair is super soft not oily and i love it and it doesn't flair my bladder I can even wash down under and it doesn't burn :)

I dont think the site is a scam, but I do think someone was trying to scam me!

I am still working on finding a list 1 shampoo that works.  Matia said the black soap would be too strong for me due to the Palm oil (coconut).  She did say to go ahead and give the conditioner a try.
