A great yummy night time drink when you are in the latter stages of my protocol, something that I drink often at night, is: one mug full of warm milk (organic or raw) warmed on the stove top, pu one tsp unsweetened cocoa powder and 1/2 to 1 tsp of agave or maple syrup. It is super yummy
and nutritious:)

I still drink a lot of tea. Not herbal but normal extra strength Dilmah tea. I know that you have mentioned not to drink tea but for some unknown reason, drinking this type of tea is very soothing and non irritating for my bladder. I have had huge amounts of good days when I am drinking my tea. Before my symptoms of IC began I used to drink on excess maybe 10 to 12 cups of tea a day. When I decided to get pregnant and was about to begin IVF I was told to not drink tea or coffee etc. Shortly after I did this my symptoms of IC began to show. I have refrained from drinking tea for nearly 2 years since I have had IC except the marshmellow root which I tried and was too sensitive to, but started again after my cystoscopy when the nurse gave me a cup of tea after I awoke from the proceedure. When I felt so much better I increased my tea until hello, some days I have no pain or symptoms at all and I feel 100% normal. Why is this and will I have to stop when I start treatment?

Teas and Coffees are all herbs. They can affect you one way or another. The thing is, many times the other can be very negative. In a few cases, I have thought that excessive tea drinking contributed to a couple of my patient's IC. Just contributed not caused. For example, peppermint tea, or mint in general is something I recommend to not drink during treatment. When you are further along it is OK. But, this is because it is tough on the bladder. Now that you are only at the beginning, not drinking tea would be wise, but soon, we can add it. We dont want any of those "herbal substances to interfere with anything else you are taking.
