Hi everyone,
I am a new patient and following List 1. I wanted to ask those of you who live in LA, if you have any recommendations for restaurants in the area where it is ok to find something suitable for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I don't want to take a chance and mess my diet protocol, so i usually choose to eat home my breakfast and lunch.
When I socialize, it's mostly for dinner since it's more appropriate to suggest going to a steak/fish restaurant get something grilled, really plain.
Places like Le Pain Quotidien should be using organic eggs, but i am not sure if they would know for sure what the chicken were fed. I asked about their breads though, they said they are mostly yeast free but are sourdough, so i can't do that either.
Thank you for any thoughts and suggestions.
LA Restaurants
I have not found many that I feel completely safe at, but Enterprise Fish Co. off of Main street in Santa Monica is great. They have many fish options that they can grill in butter. They also offer steamed veggies (broccoli for List 1) and plain baked potato. If you like lobster, they do a special Mon-Thurs.- $29.99 for a whole Maine lobster, steamed veggies and baked potato (normally its $49.99).
If anyone else has LA area suggestions, I am all ears!
Nice service
Hi, thank you for your reply.
Fish Company is one of the few places I go as well:) I was very happy about their steamed broccoli, and grilled fish too, but please be aware they have been carrying mostly farmed fish, if that's a concern, to keep their prices reasonable.
I had an interesting experience today. We were out with my husband today and since we have been eating home all the time, we decided to treat ourselves to Houston's in pasadena. I usually get a filet mignon without any seasoning (you can save half for later), and get a plain baked potatoe with butter, or fries without seasoning. I told the server that i had food allergies. Houston's in Pasadena has great people who work there, and she was no exception. She answered my questions patiently and took my order with great care. However, when my plate arrived, it had so much pepper on it. i had my husband taste and confirm it first.
Another waitress close by came to see what was wrong and apologized sincerely and went to put another order in the kitchen. Then our own waitress came over and apologized several times also. The order was passed on to the chef specifically, but at the last moment the chef forgot and grinded pepper before sending it off (it must be a routine thing). I told our waitress that it was no problem, but she insisted on bringing us a plate of fries to nibble on while we waited. Then the kitchen manager showed up :) He came to apologize as well, and about 10 minutes later he came to serve my plate in person. It was really not necessary, and i felt embarrassed to be so picky, but told him i had to be. Well, the point of this story is that it's always risky to eat out, but it was also very nice of the people who work at Houston's bc you know they are sincere and helpful.
