I have been putting off having my wisdom teeth removed for a while. One of my teeth is starting to bother me. I don't want to put any chemicals in my body but have any of you had wisdom teeth removal surgery or dental work? If so, do they use harmful chemicals?
I had mine out a month ago.
I had mine out a month ago. They put you under and there isn't any escaping that BUT they usually give laughing gas and I asked to skip that part because there really isn't a reason to use it. I also did have to take the pain pills but did not take the antibiotic bc that is just a precaution, again not really needed. I also ate a lot of mashed potatoes to stay on the diet. I did cheat with sprite and saltines the first day because I was extremely nauseated for about an hour and DID NOT want to throw up. If I would have thrown up I may have gotten a dry socket and I didn't want to risk that because I heard those are extremely painful. I didn't even ask Matia about it, I just did it. I had to get them taken out so I just scheduled it and got it over with. Hope that helps.
Did you have any problems
Did you have any problems from the pain pills or being knocked out?

Hey ladies,
I am currently trying to arrange an appointment with my dentist, as I need to remove one of mine, it hurts and just grows wrong, that is a neccessary thing, but - are you serious they knock you out for the procedure??? I am from the Czech Rep. and here you just get an injection to your gum & surroundings and you are totally awake unless you are a serious case or something! Wow. General anesthesia for teeth removal, really? Maybe I just get it wrong and it is something with the language?
Yeah. For me, it would be a
Yeah. For me, it would be a surgery. I need to have three removed. One is under the bone, and I think they plan to leave it.
No I didnt have any problems
No I didnt have any problems but I havent had bladder pain in months, just muscle pains in my arms now. They knock you out depending on how your case is. I had one removed years ago because it grew in straight and they did not put me under. It just depends on how serious your wisdom teeth case is. A lot of people get them taken out in high school and college before there are complications here in America. I waited until they were actually really bothering me and the only way to stop the pain was to just surgically remove them.
OK thanks LeeLee! Sounds
OK thanks LeeLee! Sounds reasonable.:)
I was not knocked out for
I was not knocked out for mine. It was 14 years ago so don't remember more than that.
wisdom teeth experience
Hi Me,
I had my wisdom teeth removed about 12 years ago and was not having any bladder issues at the time. However I'd had bladder problems about 4 years prior. I was knocked out and the surgery took longer than they expected. All of my teeth were impacted, I don't know if yours are or not. They gave me a lot of anesthesia and steroids (to combat extreme swelling) as a result and the next day I had terrible bladder pain, which began about a year of real ups and downs bladder wise for me.
I don't want to steer you away from something that is really necessary for you, but I find that any kind of invasive procedure bothers my bladder. For ex: yesterday I fell and had to have a bunch of stitches and my bladder is kind of a wild mess today. I have been emailing with Matia about it and she assures me that this is to be expected given the various novocaines and antibacterial things they used on me.
Just try to proceed with caution around something like this. Everyone is different so you could be totally fine. Do you have a holistic practitioner in your area that you could consult with? They may have a different view on what to do about your teeth until your bladder feels more stable.
