Here's some improvement which I personally didnt expect since I've been a nail biter my entire life! I suppose its a nervous/stress reaction (but my two brothers are also nail biters and have been their entire lives). I've been taking cod liver oil for about 6 weeks, I have stopped biting my nails (finally) about 10 days ago and their are not only growing... but they are growing harder. I am so happy about this and hope I keep this up. Dr. B told me that she has had minimal patients that are nail biters and I'm sure most of you dont, however, being that I have worn acrylic nails (for 18+ years) for the main purpose so that I dont bite them... I am super happy about this! I'm excited that one day, instead of going to get fake nails back on, I'll get my real nails done! Anyhow, thought I'd share a ray of hope.
happy.
happy. i've never been a nail biter, but nails grew with a ridge across it...kinda strange, whenever i looked at it while watching tv, i always wondered what was happening to my body around that time to cause this...well, i don't have that anymore. :oD
Hi Adriane, I am glad that
Hi Adriane,
I am glad that your natural nails are growing stronger. It's such a pleasant improvement among all other things. I've always been a nail biter, if i am worried, watching a movie, therefore never allowed my nails to grow strong all my life. If i had to go to an event, i'd do the stick on nails and file them to a natural lenght or temporary acyrlics. I can't imagine how i handled those nail salon toxic smell. I haven't kicked the habit 100% yet, i still bite them once in a while, if i am stressed out or nervous. i am wondering if the cod liver oil is calming you and eliminating that nervous habit? That's great, if so, i need some of those :) I did realize though if i don't bite my nails, they grow stronger now where i can enjoy them for a few weeks before i crack one by mistake, then the whole cycle starts again. I personally don't care for really long nails, but seeing some length to them sure looks more feminine :)
