Anyone have CKD?

Hi everyone!

I have had some blood work run and the results show that I may have kidney disease. Anyone else have CKD, IBS and IC? Kind of freaking out, everything I read says damage to kidneys is irreversible. I am waiting to hear from my Dr. to see if more tests will need to be done. Anyone in treatment had impaired kidney function and seen improvements over time? If so, did you do acupuncture as well as herbs, or herbs alone? Anything to ease my worries would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm sorry that you're feeling worried and scared right now - I'm hoping that you've a better grip on things than I've been able to maintain. I don't have the kidney problems that you're worried about - just some other things that terrify me. So - I get it. I don't know if this will help - heck - it rarely helps me as the concept doesn't come easily - even after another round of therapy - whatever you have - truly - isn't as bad as the fear that can take over - that is your true enemy.

Hugs to us both

Thanks Denise! So true the fear and anxiety is my worst enemy! Just wish I didn't have to wait to get more answers! I am hoping this is nothing and can just move past it! I am thinking of you, and wishing you the best with what you are dealing with! Take care and happy healing!:)

Would you tell me what tests you had done. I would like to get them done just to see.

Hi Nancy,
I have routine blood work run every month for other concerns. I didn't mean to make anyone else concerned about this. Just trying to ease my mind and was coureous if anyone else had any kidney issues. I have searched and have not had any luck finding any link with IC and kidney disease. The lab work I have run is a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP).

Thanks! At church today the homily was all about worry, how ironic! "Worry steals time," trying my best to listen to this message and thinking positively!:) No matter what, I know I am in good hands, and at least hopefully maintain current function or slow the progression.

hey there-
i wouldnt really worry about what the internet says.  it also says ic is incurable and other crazy stuff.  docs don't know much about the effects of extreme diets and how it can affect kidney damage, you know?  they don't take nutrition in med school (and if they do, its a short 4 day course or traditional nutrition which is pro low fat, and doesnt address sugar).  if you think about it, how many people with kidney problems do what we're doing?  there aren't interventions of people with kidney disease and a diet THIS crazy, because it would be so hard to get high levels of adhearance.  so all of that information you're reading is for the general person, who gets kidney disease, goes to the doctor, the doctor never mentions and extreme dietary change--so the kidney disease is irreversible.  so i would talk to matia about it.  im sorry you're going through this!!
