Hi there ladies,

I was wondering if anyone is still dealing with heartburn after a long time in

treatment. I have not been very good at staying on the diet as of late; however,

I was very strict for the first 9 months and my acid reflux never got fully better.

I decided to restrict my diet further, I cut out coffe, cheese and wheat. I am

currently eating 3/4 fresh veggies at every meal. I still have silent heartburn

which feels like the need to belch fallowed by a burning sensation in my chest

and throat. My voice is alway hoarse it sucks!! I am considering getting checked

for a hiatal hernia and possibly getting surgery. Any one gone through this?

YES!!!!!!!!!!! And I can't thank Keren enough for posting this very interesting article about GERD. I have been suffering with acid reflux since I was 11 years old. (I am now 34) I took tons of antacids for many, many years, including prilosec, which, according to this article, sounds a death knell in the gut for proper acid levels. When I started with Matia I was taking tums, pepto bismol, pepcid, and nexium EVERYDAY, and still had horrible reflux. Changing my diet and lowering carbs helped but I have continued to suffer with severe bouts of reflux. I am going to ask Matia if I can try some of the things this article suggests. I have been praying for an answer for a long time, I hope this is it

Hi aeyring,
I'm looking for all the info I can find about GERD as my son is suffering with this right now. I know these are old posts but if you can pass any info on to me I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Tammy
