I have been thinking about it for 3 years. I found 2 holistic dentists and it is not horribly expensive. One guy said $50 per quadrant...there are 4 and then the cost for each new filling. Some should be covered by insurance. Have not checked for sure. I hesitate because it does not sound like fun and I worry it may make you feel worse for awhile while the mercury clears. There are lots of protocols to help with this and prepare. I keep working on alternative things like diet which works most of the time. I still sometimes flare a bit but I can control it pretty good which decreases the fear factor.
I know 4 people who have done it with success...one a nurse- she is better. 2nd is an engineer and she is doing well. 3rd is a neighbor removing one filling each year for 5 years now (insurance reasons). She does not eat sugar and is doing well. 3th is a doctor and she is a thyroid specialist. These folks I all respect and thats why I keep looking into it. I also read the book Healthy Mouth Healthy Body by Victor Zeines. It is a good book, and there are many others out there used on Amazon. Would like to hear others opinions.
Hi there, I had 2 metal fillings replaced with the white ones in May and one new one done. I've been in treatment for 14 months, Matia thought i would be ok to do it and said to ask my dentist to use a dental dam to stop any of the old filling getting into my digestive system, I asked him and he did. I suffer from bad TMJ and keeping my mouth open for the whole procedure was uncomfortable and it took a few days for my jaw to feel better. Two weeks later I got the worst nerve pain of my life in one of the teeth I had the new fillings in, it was excruciating, but only when I drank anything cold or room temperature, hot drinks seemed fine. Matia thinks its related to treatment so she is helping me with it and I'm just eating and drinking on the other side, the pain has definitely got less and I have total faith she will get it all better in time. I think having the procedure done while still in treatment maybe wasn't such a good idea and i think if I'd waited until I was all better I might have avoided the nerve pain, but who knows?!
