Yes. I have one too!
I've had one about the same size attached to the top of my uterus. I've had it for several years. We moniter the size and leave it alone. I've even had to C-sections and my doctor wouldn't remove it. I will mention it to Matia. I'm sure she'll have something to say about it. Tammy
thank you
Thank you Tammy for your reply. Have you been in treatment for awhile with Matia? I am wondering and hoping that this treatment might help the bibroid to get smaller or to stop growing at least. Your info helps as I am going for my followup appointment tomorrow. Thanks.

In treatment since October 08
Glad to help. I've been in treatment since late Oct 08. I forgot to mention my fibroid to Matia but will add it to my list of questions for her. Are you in treatment yet? Is your follow up with your GYN? I would assume Matia could help us both with this issue. Tammy
Fibroids
I have been in treatment since May 2008 and have had significant improvement. Still a ways to go but very hopeful I will continue to improve. My followup is with a new GP and we will decide if I should seee a GYNO. My last GP failed to tell me that I had this fibroid as I discovered when I had access to my medical records. I have mentioned it to Matia and she assured me that they are quite common and possibly this treatment could help.
I would leave it alone..
I would leave it alone if it's not bothering you. You could have your GP moniter it as you go through treatment with Matia.
fibroids
I would agree. I have made my mind up but others have been contributing to me second guessing myself because they have this thought if something is growing inside you that shouldn't be there it should be removed just to be sure. From all the reading and discussions with people that know a little about fibroids it seems that to leave it and just to monitor it is the right option. I am sure that this is what the GP will say today. One thing I do wonder is if it is pushing on the bladder.
It's always good to find out.
It's always good to find out what your options are and keep informed. I would avoid surgery at all costs. I have heard too many stories of people having invasive procedures and getting other complications. My husband works with a women that went in recently for a "routine procedure" and got a very bad infection. She is very ill and still in the hospital. Good luck, let me know how you make out. Tammy
Have a good day
I would agree with you re: other complications will let you know. Have a good day Tammy!
Good news
Just got back from Doctor re: fibroid. He is going to send me for a secnd oppinion to see a Gyno but all in all he is not worried and neither am I. As you said will just monitor. The other good news is my blood sugar has greatly improved since starting with Matia and so has my cholesterol which were both in the higher range last year. They are both now within normal range and even described as excellent. This may be of interest to those that were concerned about their cholesterol and this diet.
Great news!
Glad to hear that all went well. Great to hear that about your cholesterol. I eat three eggs a day. Mines never been a problem before and I read time and time again on this site that cholesterol has gone down since starting this diet. I consume more meat, eggs and butter than ever before in my life but I'm eating more veggies than ever before too. Tammy
fibroid update
Since my check up in February the uterine fibroid has increased in size. I was wondering why I am having a hard time walking and thought that I should get it checked again and sure enough it is bigger and pressing on my bladder. The Gyno is suggesting a laparoscopy supercervical hysterectomy. I am a little freaked out by this but I sure do want to be able to run and walk again without this constant pressure. I was hoping that what I was doing in treatment was going to help but does not seem to be doing so. I am thinking about accupuncture to see if this will help. The only thing is I don't live near Matia and I know that she does not like us to be in other treatments at the same time. Not sure what to do any feedback from others would be appreciated.
surgery
Hi Kristie,I also had fibroids for many years and had very very heavy bleeding. It got so bad that I developed severe anemia. I went to a gyno. and he did a laproscopy hysterectomy. I was told that it was the best thing to do. The surgery seemed to go well but I picked up a bladder infection at the hopspital and was told that that was quite common. It took a month to get rid of it . Two months later I developed IC. I truly believe the hospital bacteria led to IC even though my doctor said it did not. If you can avoid surgery, it would be great. Talk to Matia and see what she recommends. esalinas
Thanks Esalinas: I am quite
Thanks Esalinas: I am quite concerned about getting this done but don't know if I have a choice. It is affecting my quality of life in terms of not being able to walk and run and also I think that it does contribute to my getting up at night. The fibroid has increased in size a lot since Feb and is pressing on the bladder. The herbs and diet are obviously not stopping the growth. I am looking at acupuncture and other ideas in the meantime. I do feel afraid that the Ic could really fflare up after a surgery but don't know what to do.
hry krisite just wanted to
hry krisite just wanted to see how ur doing with fibroid situation?i remebr u saying u were going to talk to matia about it before ur apt?
to Tory
I will be having it removed in the fall as it has grown so quickly and is pressing on my bladder. I am concerned about how this will affect me in terms of the IC. I am glad that I am working with Matia so hopeful to minimize the impact especially in terms of any antibiotics that may be necessary. Matia suports my decission. Thanks for asking Tory.
Hi Kriste: I am so sorry you
Hi Kriste: I am so sorry you have this to contend with. I'm thinking though that treating this may be a big answer to having fewer IC symptoms later. I have to say, I would go directly to Matia for advice and/or explore alternative routes/ I would be amazed if Chinese medicine didn't have remedies to offer for treatment of fibroids. I know it's a different growth, but a few years ago, pain and pressure in my pelvis proved to be a large ovarian cyst. The doctor advised immediate removal because of it's size. I was prepared for this, but before committing, went to a naturopath who put me on a herbal remedy. I felt some relief so continued. I went back to gyno 2 months later, had an ultra sound and the cyst was completely gone. The doctor was very surprised..me too! Maybe you could postpone the surgical decision awhile, and give some time to some alternatives? warm wishes and thoughts...
Hi Kriste, Sorry to hear
Hi Kriste, Sorry to hear what you are going through, it sounds very unpleasant. My mother was diagnosed with fibroids and was adviced by a top Beverly Hills doc to have a full hysterectomy and her ovaries also removed. I sent my Mom to Dr. William Parker. He is such a wonderful doctor. If you have the ability and means I would make an appointment with him. Dr. Parker is so knowledgeable on fibroids; he has written several books. I would recomend you get the book Second Opinion about Fibroids. There is also so much info available free online for everyone.http://www.fibroidsecondopinion.com/http://www.fibroidsecondopinion.com/fibroid-treatment-options/http://www.hopeforfibroids.org/contributingdoctors.htmlhttp://www.hopeforfibroids.org/drparkerbackground.html Before you make any decision, get informed. My mom was told by this Beverly Hills doc that she needed to have an emergency hysterectomy because the fibroids could become cancerous and spread the cancer to her other organs. This is a myth. I later found out from Dr. Parker that fibroids do not become cancerous and according to him my Mom's case was a much ado about nothing. In her case, he was right, she was asymptomatic and if the Dr. had not done the ultrasound she would have not even known that she had a fibroid. If I was you I would also get the book by Dr. Washowsky " Healing Fibroids". You can buy his book at Amazon. Here is a link also to his website. http://www.doctorallan.com/. I saw a documentary on PBS called the "New Medicine" and he was one of the doctors showed on the documentary. I urge everyone to see this documentary, it is very informative and powerful. I wish someone would put it on youtube or make it available for free, etc. This documentary can turn a skeptic to believe in alternative medicine. Dr. Washowsky was a conventional doctor who did not believe in alternative medicine but because of what he saw in his practice at Beth Israel in New York, he could not avoid believing that there are so many alternatives that really do work. In this documentary they show a woman with very large painful fibroids that is healed via diet, herbs and castor oil compresses. She was monitored all along at Beth Israel hospital. Do your research and keep surgery as the very last option. All the best Cecilia
surgery
Well I had my uterus removed today due to the fibroid. It was growing like wild fire. In Feb this year it was the size of a tennis ball and today it was larger than a grapefruit. Even Matia supported my decision for the procedure which was so comforting. I had been coming along bladder wise so hope that this does not set me back too much due to all the meds and procedure. I had not had any burning for about 6 weeks yay! I did have to have a catheter put in which I tried not to have but my surgeon would not do it without that. I am a little uncomfortable from that when I pee but hopefully that heals quickly. I hope the fact that I have been getting healthier can get me though this. My ovaries looked healthy and no signs of endometriosis. I will wait for the biopsy results but I and my Doctor feel quite confident that there is not anything bad to worry about. There is always that little nag in the back of your mind but I do think that my healthier ways will have made a difference thanks to Matia.
I will keep people posted on my progress and how the bladder holds up from all this. If I can get through this with only mild setback then I know my bladder is getting stronger.
Glad the op went well
U must be feeling well to be posting the day u had the op! How are u now? Was it a total hysterectomy?
surgery and flaring
I only removed the uterus and left in the ovaries and cervix so hopefully hormones will be okay. I was pretty sore due to the operation and could not sleep. Now two weeks later my bladder is very angry. I hope this clears up soon as I was doing not too bad bladdewise prior to the surgery. I have alot of frequency now and some burning. Feeling a little scared and upset hoping I will bounce back soon. I did have to take alot of meds the first week but now done. I also had no choice and had to have he catheter during surgry. I had not taken any type of meds other than Matias herbs for over a year I was so proud of myself. Between the surgery and the meds my bladder is not happy. Wondering if others who were getting better had setbacks due to procedures and then got better again?
Surgery
I'm sure you'll feel better soon Kriste, post-surgery its bound to take time for your body to recover. Hope u feel better sooner rather than later.
Jane
Jane thank you so much for your well wishes.
