It is allergy season here and my nose if stuffy.  My family has recently got over a cold and that is an option as well.  What do you do for a stuffy nose?  I didn't think a decongestant is an option.  Should I just deal with it or do I need to keep my nasal passages clear to prevent an infection?

well I would tell Matia she may adjust  your herbs. Also you could try a netti pot.

This is a homeopathic spray that works really well. It's another product that I keep on hand at all times. I've used it with my kids. It's sold in most health food stores.

When I am really stuffed up with a cold, the homeopathic remedy Natrum Muriaticum usually helps to decongest things.  You could also try Kali Bichromicum which is another good one for sinuses.  The neti pot is also an excellent idea as it helps to get the stuff out.  You can use it in addition to the homeopathic remedies.

Go on to YOUTUBE and look up Netti Pot... It is awesome and you can get it at almost any health food store... It keeps the area clean by using salt water which is a natural antibiotic.

I use a very simple point massage technique that relieves nasal congestion fast and effectively.

The massage is based on Chinese acupressure. There are only 4 easy points to massage, so it’s very easy to remember and always have it with you (in your head). Here how it goes:

  1. Perform the below routine 3 times:
    1. Perform 10 pressures on a cavity at the corner of the nostrils (point 1). You should almost close and open the nostrils when you do the round movement.
    2. Perform 10 pressures on a cavity just below the corner of the eyes near the nose (point 2)
    3. Perform 10 pressures on a cavity just below the ear, behind the earlobe (point 3)
    4. Massage the earlobe 10 times (point 4)
  2. After performing the above 3 times, you should feel immediate relief of your nasal congestion. It is advised to return on the above procedure again in about 10 minutes to make it more permanent or the congestion could return.

Hope this helps :o)
