Hi!
The road to recovery sometimes gets intense. Here are my tricks to deal with some of the difficult sides of healing. Hope to hear your tricks too!
Blemishes (a BIG problem!!): mineral makeup! I am using Meow cosmetics foundation... I also like Dr. Hauschka bronzing powder as a blush. I sometimes steam my face and do a clay mask (if you can tolerate this) to which I add some lavendar Essential Oil or Oil of Oregano.
Grumpy, angry, irritated mood: I get out and bike and pedal away. I can't run anymore because of some pain in my knee and hip. I you can't bike, walk and stump. It helps, really!!! For me, -and I had to learn this because I was the "keeping everything inside to be perfect all the time type" I had to learn how to let myself feel the anger. The cool thing is that once you really feel it, without trying to understand it, it goes away on its own.
irritated mood/depressed: I go to the sauna. I alternate between hot sauna and cold water showers for 30 to 60 minutes. I didn't tell Matia about this, so not sure it's allowed, but I figured that if it gets me optimistic again, it can't be wrong. I also brush my body with a loofa to get all the dead skin cell off+ die off stuff... When you come out, you are reborn, it's really nice.
limited ideas for snacks: cucumber smoothies (this one is Angela's idea) and cabbage smootie. I swore off rice crackers so I needed help!! Just put some cucumbers in the blender with some water. Add cabbage. Enjoy.
bloating: yoga poses! Just google "yoga to relieve bloating" and there you go!
Feeling sluggish-under toned (or plain unsexy) -depressed: if you can't exercise too much because of pain or other condition, I discovered a really amazing pracice called Hsin Tao. It rejuvenates the body, mind and soul and anyone.... and I mean anyone can do it, the movements are simple and can be reduced to a minimum.
Looking forward to reading your ways of dealing! Big hug, B

good idea ballerine
Good idea ballerine - here are a few - I'll try to think of more.
Anxiety > lavender oil between the breasts (& a little under my nose). Matia suggested this - it really works!
Snacks > cashew butter (if you're allowed) > can get it w/ cashews as only ingredients. It's delectable, tastes like cupcake icing a bit. I know of it from my old raw food cookbooks - they'd use it as faux icing for carrot cake, etc.
Overwhelmed > Reading books by enlightened folk that take me out of my small personal misery and into the bigger picture. Suggest Ekhart Tolle, Osho, Pema Chodron. Also, reading books on the power of belief, overcoming obstacles, etc. Suggest Christopher Reeve's Nothing is Impossible, Nelson Mandela's autobio, Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning.
books!
Reading inspiring books really helped me! Here are my picks: -The Power of Now (Eckart Tolle)-Conversations with God (Neale Donald Walsch)-New Psycho-Cybernetics (Maxwell Maltz)-Hands of Light (Barbara Brennan)to name just a few...Thanks for the recs, I have N. Mandela's autobiography at home, it looks like it is just the right time to start it. Big Tuesday hug to all, B
blemishes
Hello to all!I've had success minimizing blemishes and making them disappear faster by dabbing some Oil of Oregano directly on them with a Qtip. I wet the Qtip first, so as not to let it absorb too much Oil of Oregano and then spot treat.I also have a really practical facial toner to use before going to bed to wake to a clearer complexion, I have normal skin, which changes from day to day (a little more dry or oily depending), but mostly normal. My skin also breaks out here and there, nowhere near as much as it used to 6 months ago, but it doesn't look as even as before treatment either. So for the toner lol, I spray some floral water or Avene water on a cotton pad and add 3 drops of Lavendar Essential Oil or Oil of Oregano. I then apply to my whole face. It finishes up what my cleanser has left behind too. This really helps me!!---I asked Matia about the sauna issue. She said that it is not recommended but that for me, since I do well with it (keeps me destressed lol), I am allowed to go about twice a week. More often would drain my body fluids too much. HTH.---
