If you fail to plan, then plan to fail

I saw this quote the other day and remembered hearing it when I was little... I didn't really "get it" at the time, but now it totally makes sense to me... When people ask me how I eat so well and healthfully, I tell them it is a habit and there is a lot of planning involved... If I know I have to go to work the next day which is at the crack of dawn, sometimes 4:15 in the morning, I need to pack my breakfast with me.  The night before, I will usually make not just one pound of ground turkey, but two pounds cooked up... That way, for the week, I have turkey to add to soups, tacos, omelets etc.  I make myself an omelet the night before and heat it up at work.  When I was not planning things out, that was when I was likely to cheat.  Same goes for you gals making your chicken broth!  Make it at a time when you know you are going to be home doing laundry, etc... Then take the meat off and use it in your salads, etc.

Success in this whole thing is awareness and planning...being proactive rather than reactive.  It is hard at first, but then with practice I think it becomes easier... Just some thoughts...
