Hi - just wanted to share with anyone out there that struggles with trying to keep it together mentally. My therapist, a wonderful woman, is having me read The MIndful Way throgh Depression (she believes it also pertains to anxiety) It's by Mark Williams, John Teasdale, Zindel Segal & Jon Kabat-Zinn. One blurb read "Using mindfulness training to prevent and treat depressions is a novel stategy in the West, though it is a traditional application of Easter Meditateion Practise" Anyway, it's an incredible training tool with a CD - It's an eight week program. It talks about controlling the body's reactions to stress before it gets to the mind. For me, trying to control my mind is nearly impossible - it talks about how are gut is the place where it all starts - that if we learn to keep in tune with our bodies, that we can stop if from controlling our minds. That often times trying to think away something just makes it worse. Anyway, just thought I'd share.
