Hi all,
Had a quick look at the ICN web site today and there's some quite interesting stuff in the latest research section, by Ken Peters - a urologist no less, who suggests that the bladder is just an innocent bystander in all of this AND there's tacit acknowledgement that pharmaceutical companies have promoted the 'bladder wall' theory only, at the expense of others. I never thought I'd see ICN write like this on their website. Maybe times are changing (for the better?) and some decent research will be done?
ICN
So, what does Ken Peters think is causing the bladder problem?
He has no clue!
Did we both read the same information? He is treating symptoms just like the rest of the MD's out there. He offered no new information and does not have any idea how to help anyone overcome this disease.
I agree that he's treating just symptoms BUT....
It's the first time I've seen a regular urologist suggest that the bladder is a 'bystander' - that other, more systemic things can be causing its problems. His teatment is not very evolved, admittedly, but the concepts are going beyond just 'the bladder'. Perhaps I'm behind in my thinking - my experience of uros and urogyneas. in the UK has made me think that Peters' concept is quite advanced for a uro.!
Research
It probably is, for a urologist.
