I'm still trying to play detective over what could have caused my weird and sudden setback, and trying to exclude all the variables. Two things - opinions would be great! 1) we moved house in April to an old post-war bungalow with asbestos ceilings (undisturbed) and quite a bit of mould in certain places (plan to knock down and build new). 2) We got a puppy in July. Does anyone have any experience of mould making them ill. We were living in an ancient house when I first got poorly, and I strongly associated that house with becoming ill......... Husband thinks I'm bonkers. Also wonder if I'm getting bugs from puppy. Hope not :(((
Dear Clairek,
Dear Clairek,
I recently had a new carpet put it. I had not felt the burning for so long, over a year. My problem was mostly the urgency. The day the carpet was installed that awful uncomfortable burning returned. Boy it went on or a long time. Matia said it was the fumes from the chemicals in the epoxy and the carpet. The thing is, there is no escape if you live there. I you could go away for a long weekend or a vacation or a visit to a family member you can see if you get better away from the house. I did this. I went to texas to see my sister at thanksgiving. On the plane I was in burning agony, going to the restroom maybe 10 times. Horrible . But after 2 days at my sister's house it was back to normal.so I knew for sure it was the carpet. When I came home the burning began immediatley. So go away if you can and see if it gets better. Hope you can solve this mystery. Love and healing to you, Julie
Claire- I asked about his
Claire- I asked about his before. Turned out my house seems ok but Mold is s serious issue. There is a whole case in Dr B's dissertation that is centered on a toxic mold house situation. Hope things work out soon.
Julie- it is very important that you have put out your rexperience about the carpet. it may save someone a lot of grief! Hope you feel better soon.
Hmmm, interesting! Thanks
Hmmm, interesting! Thanks for this! We bought this old scabby house and just chucked some paint on the walls and some very cheap carpets on the floor to make it habitable while we were getting the new one planned/built etc. it was so revolting when we bought it! I'm definitely going to ask about both of these things - I have an appt in half an hour. I guess we'll have to get on with building the new house in a slightly more modest way:(. This illness is expensive. Grrrrrrrrrrr
