Vulvodynia

Hi everyone,  I have been under Dr. Brizman's care for 7 months now.  My main problem is vaginal irritation.  My bladder feels stronger but the vulvodynia is harder to get rid of.  Sex is next to impossible.  Is there anyone out there who is also having this problem and do you have any suggestions or words of encouragement?  This is the first time I join a forum, but since I feel very comfortable with this sisterhood I thought I would try it.  Thanks for any help you can give me.  esalinas

I am not sure if you had a chance to see it but there was a thread titled sexuality and sensuality a while back- look at the box down on your right called recent blog posts and go back to the second page? and check that out- I asked a similair question and got a great insightful response from someone who has sucessfully overcome IC and vulvadynia. vulvadynia and bladder pain is something I also struggle with- it gets worse when I ovulate it seems. I have been in treatment for 3 months now and I have not really noticed any changes with my vulvdynia either. Very slow progress with my bladder. Its difficult cause I want to be better imediately but I know that I have struggled with chronic yeast infections for years. It would seem to me that there are considerable layers of crud in my tissues( I could be incorrect as to why it may take more time)I know that I am presently working very hard to clean them out. Its going to take a while realistically but it will happen. Perhaps that is the case with you- some folks I understand keep moving along at the same pace and then hit a momentum where things really start to change. noone can say where that point is- its probably different for everyone but certainly with the good health causes you ae making it seems the inevitable result with be postive. I think until my bladder gets stronger that I might not feel any changes in my vuvldynia. give it more time! the body is very wise and does things when its ready! maybe its getting to apoint of being able to handle more? Sometimes cause things are moving so slowly I think nothing is happening but I know some things are changing and its just that I need more patience. keep doing the right things! keeping a journal has helped me see my progress and has encouraged me. May you experience a thourough healing for your whole body very soon!

Thanks Honeybee. I have had many challenges in my life that I have thought were impossible to conquer, but through my faith I have pulled through. This is the toughest challenge though. Dr. Brizman has been great and has explained that these things take time, but it is great to hear it from someone who is also going through it. I have had some relief but then it comes back and I get discouraged. I will read what you suggested. Thanks for your response......I feel better already. I hope you too get better soon. E Salinas
