Hello Everyone,

I am currently at week 5 of treatment! So far my bladder is pretty stable. I am

so excited because my heart burn is gone my lungs feel stronger and I have not

had any allergies this spring!! However I am constantly tired. I mean can barely

get off the couch tired. It is really hard to function I know alot of people have

this problem is there a time frame? I know we are all different but I would love

to hear when this began to go away for people. Thanks so much I hope everyone

is doing well :)

When I got to Matia I was pretty exhausted- the pain drained me so much. Then the treatment had me sUPER tired all the time. My muscles were really heavy and I felt like I was moving through molasses simply walking to another part of my work building. I slept alot when I could overcome any insomnia- rested alot and basically sacificed my social life for the first 6 months. I noticed my energy level could fluctuate- it got better as I moved through intial stages where we were blasting the yeast and bacteria which just stops you dead in your tracks- and I would notice I had a bit more energy  but then I'd have weeks where I'd be extra tired as well but I was also beginning to be able to take a short walk by 3-4 months into treatment without feeling wreacked. It was pretty gradual. By 6 months I wasn't feeling like I had lead weights attatched to my limbs and even took a vacation. I still made/continue to make time in the day for rest and have spent alot of my time int he last year or so of treatment resting and napping and giving my body time to repair itself. Your kidneys store much of your energy (chi) so letting them get strong and replenishing that vital life force is trluy a great thing. Your energy will come back and it will be really vibrant. I still take it easy - avoid stress and plan my schedule in advance to make time for rest. It actually is a good habit. I used to rush and waste alot of my energy. when I get the okay- when my body is ready- Matia said I can do Qigong/Tai chi which rebuilds lifeforce and energy. right now such enrgy work is still a little too powerful and strong for my system. My  problem was that I was too tired to exercise in the beginning- or at least that was my excuse!  (I'm a little on the sluggish side as it is) I begin to add  light yoga and a short walks that did help raise my energy but not exhaust me. I feel just recently like my energy has gotten a big lift and I haven't felt this energetic in about 10 years! Its really amazing how rejuvenating TCM is- as a 20 year old I was feeling 80 and now at 30 I feel better than I did at 20. Its only going to improve. the quality of your energy will feel really flowing and strong- not like the false energy from caffeine but from a body that is working and functioning efficiently in harmony. well I'm getting there but not there yet! So I think the first 4-5 months I felt the most tired. I did get really exhausted at month 6-8 but that was more mental/emotional and some of Matia's herbs have helped with that tremendously. If any of you are suffering from Brain fog and depression- hang on. I went through a HORRIBLE bout of it and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. again it is gettign progressively better each week. thanks!

When is going to be different for everyone but the way Marry describes it is very good. I am still having the heavyness. I am doing a lot of yeast cleansing so sometimes I will wake up with energy but it will hit me after about 4 hrs after being up like a ton of bricks WAM no Energy at all I have to eat and rest for a while. I am dealing with a lot of burning myself so I am sure that has a lot to do with my energy spikes as well. IT's funny because i was just about to write about how frustrating my energy drops are. I was litteraly in the process of making lunch and deciding to go out for a walk when it hit me.
My walks are still very short too and by short I mean 5 min is about all i can handle right now.  Being in FL I try to spend time in my garden so I am still getting excersize and I also do yoga when i am up to it. I am thinking of doing some private classes soon. I met a guy in my neiberhood the last time I went walking. I live in an artist district and he has a yoga studio. I think I am going to start working with him once I feel a little better.
You have to listen to your body and do what it tells you you are ready for. Remember you are healing and it's ok to be tired and need more rest. Give yourself a break and don't be too hard on yourself. It will all improve in your own time. If you choose to do some excersize do something light and pay close attention to how you feel during and after especally the night and the next two days. You can always increase but you cant really go back you know.
