Sugar Death

Here is a little something I wrote to sugar when I said goodbye recently:

Is it worth it?

The few seconds of sweet taste in my mouth..

Does it really satisfy the craving? No. Something that satisfies does not return for more.

Bladder disease
Anxiety
Depression
IBS
Infections in my body
Allergies
Stuffy nose
Headache
Fibromyalgia
Weight gain
Bloated stomach

These are the gifts you bring me sugar. Why am I so torn up over you? What good do you offer me, that God cannot give me? Nothing.

To have your family have to take care of you and to spend your last days very sick…all because you wanted the sweet taste of wine or cake…

Really? Is this how you want to live your life?

No. So, when I first give you up, there will be hard times. You will get very angry. I will feel tired, anxious, and you will give me headaches to give in.

So, who will win? Oh Sugar.. I can’t let you win.

I will press on and I will start again. I may have failed over and over, but I will not give up. I will start again, right now. If you are reading this because you have a craving, focus on what you will be leaving for your family. What kind of lesson do you want to provide? Do you want to tell your daughter that sugar is more important than health?

Do you want to tell her that God only satisfies some things and sugar does the rest?

No. God is everything, He satisfies all. I just need to go to him and give up.

Lord, Please let this be the day I give up refined sugar for good.

Bye Bye Sugar, you were never a friend, You dismembered my insides and almost killed me.

Bye Bye, its time to get back into reality.
