Help with sleep..please..

So I've managed to beat the insomnia that has haunted me for all of my adult life and recently also knocked my sleeping tablets on the head - celebrating over 3 weeks clean now BUT I am still waking frequently to urinate.  It wakes me from my blissful slumber, firstly after 3 or 4 hours, then 2 hours later, then an hour later often with a little pain/burning in between.  This routine is regular as clockwork.  Is there ANYTHING that can help?  I'm even considering going to a urologist for a bladder distention or something maybe more severe - I'm so desperate.  It seems to me that the bladder is at full capacity (bout 400/500ml for me) so thats what wakes me the first time but I don't know why it gets irritated and frequent after this twice again.  My daytime urgency & frequency are pretty damn good on this diet and sometimes can be 4 or even 5 hours as long as nothing has caused a flare.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Your nightime trips to the bathroom should lessen with treatment.  I highly advise against a  bladder distention.  For me, it caused a major increase in bladder pain and I am still recovering from it several years later.  Look up Interstitial Cystitis on Wikepedia.  In the article, they mention that many people have had their bladders permenantly damaged by a hydrodistention.
On a positive note, you are on the right path and this will get better as your body heals.

Thank you, I'd kind of lost faith and forgot that my bladder WILL improve.  It's just it's been happening for sooo long and it's so frustrating being woken every night without fail.  I've had a distention before and was in unbelievable pain afterwards.

I also highly caution you against such methods.  Do a search, you'll see many many others on this site got way worse after trying different urologists' methods like distention.  The very fact that you're so much better on the diet alone, and can go 4/5 hrs without peeing during the day is HUGE, way better than most on here in the beginning of treatment!!, so the nighttime issues will turn around, esp if you're this responsive already.

I should really say that the 4 or 5 hours weeing is once in a blue moon when I've not drunk enough, it's generally 2 hourly in the daytime..  I've been on a limited diet for years and this one has improved it again so I know I'm on the right track, I just have to remember that!
