This is sort of random, but I'm trying to buy a new mattress pad and all the ones that don't cost $80 seem to be treated with something antimicrobial and I'm wondering should I steer clear?  Or would washing it before putting it on my bed be enough?  Also, what about those foam egg crate things, OK to use if it's been aired out?  I feel like the princess and the pea, but, you know...
