Forums:

So I just wanted to comment real quick about something!  I know for all of us going through this terrible disease, we often rely on and reach out to eachother for love and support.  For me, you all gave me the courage and motivation to fly my pregnant self out to Dr. B.  And I am so thankful to you all for that.  I know that the majority of us on this forum are the ones who are thinking about starting treatment, in the beginning stages, or still struggling but on the path to being healed regardless.. SO we can sometimes scare eachother a little when we are feeling vulnerable and fearful.  But at the same time there is so much LOVE here on this forum that amazes me.  I can't believe how many of you have reached out to me, I just want to say thank you!  I feel so connected to all of you, and all I see are typed words and a screen name!  But the fact is, we are all in this together and we have found a great Dr. to help us get ourselves healthy.

What inspired me to write this is I emailed an older patient of Dr. B's who is pretty much recovered, she has some other health things she is still working on with Dr. B but she told me that she lives a normal life now and doesnt even think about her bladder! All thanks to Dr. B.  She offered her support and she called me today, we had a nice long conversation and she offered so much encouragement that I wanted to pass off to you all.  She said we are all in "golden hands", Dr. B knows what she's doing with each of us and she KNOWS this disease better than anyone else.  Its a process and not a quick fix so we must try not to get discouraged even though that's super hard at times.  I know once I begin my treatment I will have emotional meltdowns and may need to return to this post to remember that its okay, we will heal, its a hard path but we will all get there.  Not only will we be physically healed but we will be changed into better people all around just like the wonderful woman I spoke with today.. who actually takes time out of there day to talk to someone who is struggling?  Not very many people!

So thank you to that special woman (you know who you are), and thank you to all of you who keep me going when my doubts start to get the best of me.

LOVE you all!

:)

Hello Lindsey! I am new to treatment and read these posts everyday but have only made a few comments as I am not too wise about the course of treatment yet. I did want to reply to you and congratulate you on the miracle that god has blessed you with and let you know I will keep you and the baby in my prayers. I have had IC since I was 20 and am now 35 and know how hard it is and I will send you all the love and prayers I can as you come to the end of your pregnancy and also strength to fight this crappy thing while you enjoy wonderful moments as a new mom. Because of the disease I am only a dog mom of 4 right now but for the first time I have a little hope that someday my miracle may come as well. I of course want to adopt as well when I recover from all of this.
I am glad that you got to speak to someone that has healed, that would make me feel so much better. I have had this disease for so long that I have always lived with some level of pain and would honestly not know what to do. Christmas morning 2010 I woke up to horrible vaginal symptoms that kept me homebound for almost all of last year and I could not sit, lay move or anything do due external pain it was horrible and also felt like a flesh eating monster was attacking my cervice and uterus it was a constant pain that made me want to take my own life which is not something i really have dealt with even though I have been through hell for the last 15 years. I started to get better last dec. and was able to manage my pain a little more with live probiotic food that I followed on the Body Ecology diet and the grace of god that I begged for and he blessed me with. It didn't get me pain free by any means and the vaginal symptoms on top of my IC is still too much to handle somedays but I do have hope now. I also have joint pain now as well so I have a pretty long wish list for Dr. B!!! Anyway, in speaking with this woman do you know if she had vaginal symptoms that went away along with the bladder?
I also wanted to let you know that I also have the symptoms of more bladder pain so far with no sugar. The crazy thing is that my blader feels worse when I stopped the sugar and my vaginal symptoms feel better. I then tried out some sugar again and my bladder DID feel better but I had itching and burning in my vaginal area. I am doomed either way as far as pain but I know that I have to give up the sugar even though it hurts literally!!!

Hi Christina :) I'm so glad you found this site and have started treatment with Dr B.  I haven't even started treatment so I don't really have any words of wisdom to give to you but there are lots of other great ladies on here that I'm sure will chime in and offer you tons of support. All I know is that I've heard tons of success stories and see the progress that people on this forum have had and it motivates me.  I didn't get into detailed symptoms with the woman I was talking with so I'm not sure. But I have the vaginal stuff too along with the bladder, and I know a lot of other people do as well.  And yes i get itchy and burny when I'm eating the sugar.. I'm pretty sure it's the yeast being fed. Anyways I hope someone else who has been in treatment longer can chime in here! I can't start treatment until after the baby so i like you am still learning :)

Wow! What a wonderful positive post. You said it...it's not a quick fix, but we can't get discouraged or anxious. We have to stay positive, not be scared, and just take one day at a time.... Love it!!!

Hi Lindsey and all others!
You are right. This forum is such a blessing and encouragemet. (did I even spell that right?)
I'm, as we speak sitting at Copenhagen airport and on my way to the US to see Matia. My life is a mess. I have never experienced any type of pain like this my whole life. I'm praying so hard that this will be my road to recovery. I will NOT be able to live like this for much longer.
I need some encouraging words for sure. Has people come out of this....with multiple symptoms like I have with success. My list of symptoms is looong and painful.

Kristina, good luck in LA. I hope you have a wonderful visit. For most people it seems the symptoms leave in the opposite order they came. Most people start with bladder pain so that is usually the last thing to leave. You will get better, hang in there!

post, Lindsey. I have often felt the same thing when coming on this forum, such love and encouragement. It's really such a comforting place where others understand what you are dealing with and come alongside to help you walk through it. I am so thankful to God for Dr. B and for the lovely women on this list who have helped me so much.

Christina, I was struggling with either my intestines or my bladder. What worked for one, did not always work for the other. Before I saw Dr. B, I was on the anti-candida diet for my bladder, but I had just barely started the SCD diet for my intestines for a couple weeks prior to seeing her. Well, that sure didn't work for my bladder. I remember telling Dr. B at my first appointment that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get on top of either area, it was always pain in one area or the other, or both. So terribly miserable. I told her how thankful I was to have someone in charge of all this, as I just couldn't figure it out. I have never looked back. She will help you so much.

Kristina, I am so, so glad you are seeing Dr. B soon! Please let us all know how it goes. You are going to be better as time goes on. It is worth all the travel and effort to see her, she will help you so much. You are so courageous and wise to seek her help. Love to you from California. I hope you have such a wonderful time.

Mrs. A:

I am writing you from the list because I see you don't have an email address posted. I am looking for a buddy in my age group. Might I call or write you?  Thank you,
