so much pain

p>In all the time that I've been Dr. M's patient, any flare was minimal. My major complaint was anxiety.  Now, tonight, after a week of battling either an infection or a flair, it's stopped being controllable.  I am so scared that it's not going to stop.  I have a sneaky suspicion that I did this to myself by having my eyes dilated for an ophthalmologists appt.

When you're on a protocol, that's normally three times a day, and Dr. B changes something in result to your pain, do you immediately take it, even though you just took something that didn't work?  How do you know how long to wait before taking s 2nd dose when it's so excruciating.  I know that I'm not supposed to take pain meds, but I have some left over - codeine - I just don't know how much more I can take of this.  I have had three baths tonight and have my legs up with a heating pad - I haven't slept for two days.

So sorry to read this, maybe it is a UTI did you do a urine stick test to check? I would start taking what Matia said now. I hope this passes fast for you, I can just imagine how scary it must be. Hang in there, it will pass!

I have taken tylenol with codeine (hydrocodone) when things have gotten really bad for a prolonged period of time.  Dr. B has okayed this for me to take on occasion.  Ask Dr. B if the pain relief medication you have is okay.

Hi Lisa,
I actually ended up doing this - I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had some on hand from a prior surgery. It was 2 am and no way to make it through to when I could "talk" to Dr. B.  Although, in the past, she had said that this was something that she could work with.
Anyway - I'm so afraid to jinx this - I am feeling so much better!  I had taken the codeine, minimal, for about a day and a half-haven't had any for the last 14 hours, and the discomfort is now tolerable.
Thank you for responding
