Dry Mouth

Forums:

I hope I'm not overwhelming everyone with all my question, but since I am new on this forum, I have a lot of them I guess. I big issue I am experiencing is dry mouth. Even though I drink a lot of spring water all day and eat a lot of vegetables I experience dry mouth really badly. What do you do to combat this?  Is there something acceptable to at least suck on?  I'd appreciate any advice.

I have struggled with this as well and still do.  I think Dr. B would just tell you to drink spring water whenever you feel thirsty.  Seems simple, but your body is telling you it needs water.

Wow. I was hoping I could cure it with her treatments. Disappointed to hear this answer. I do already drink a lot. I feel I will live in the bathroom should I drink more.

Hi PIco,
The dry mouth will get better over time with treatment.  Her main focus on problem symptoms is to keep you out of pain while the body heals.  Alot of stuff you kind of get to grin and bear it Sorry that I don't have a better answer

Denise is right. Your body is dehydrated. Like I said in a previous post, your tissues are somewhat dried out (throughout the body) and so eventually your body will restore itself and you won't feel so thirsty. Symptoms seem to come and go during treatment. Some are a sign of the imbalance, and some are a sign that our body is moving back to balance. I kind of think of my body as a an experiment right now. Have to embrace the wierdness. IC is a strange illness, with deep roots and lots of branches.

Thank you for your replies.
Something I found interesting today: as I have also been struggling with constipation, upon some recommendations on this site , I ate a huge salad tonight and for at least 4 hours later my mouth was not dry.  I have been eating a salad once a day, but smaller sized ones. Someone suggested I eat two large ones  a day and I am going to try that. Maybe it will help with both problems!!!

Pico that is GREAT about feeling less dryness!!. I hope you are keeping a quick journal on these things. It is nice to notice patterns and how things are evolving and how you respond to all kinds of things during treatment!!
