Hi,
Well it's 1 am on the east coast and here I lie wide awake. Does anyone have any good for helping along a good nights sleep? I know getting no sleep makes for a bad day, but I just lay here wide awake hour after hour. I should be exhausted from a stressful day and no sleep last night. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you.
Still wide awake. I put
Still wide awake. I put lavender in some jojoba oil and rubbed it on my back and chest. Hopefully it will bring rest.
Have you tried a heating pad?
Have you tried a heating pad? It does help. If it's really bad for me...I turn it up real high...so my body just registers the intense heat...instead of the pain....
Also where do you live on the East Coast?
I live 45 minutes south of
I live 45 minutes south of Albany and 2.5 hours north of NYC. One thing that brings me comfort is a hot water bottle that I move around to wherever is needed. Last night it wasn't the pain. Nor the frequency. Since I've developed the IC symptoms, whether I'm experiencing them or not, I have developed insomnia. I never had problems sleeping in my life. I would sleep 8-9 hours straight, even after drinking two hot teas before bed. It's a new struggle for me. I did go out to sleep after putting lavender on me though. I was worried how my body might react to the lavendar, but so far so good.
I had a lot of anxiety prior
I had a lot of anxiety prior to seeing Dr. B because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to do the diet. Boy am I glad that I went, though!
Oh I see....I don't have
Oh I see....I don't have insomnia..I'm just up going the bathroom all night! I live 10 mins. outside of Philadelphia...

Dr. B's herbs helped me too.

Mimi, I just wanted to let you know how glad I am that you joined ICAMA group, although for what seems to be wrong reason (who wants to have IC?). Your advise and intelligence is often invaluable to all of us. I hope your symptoms will improve soon.
Pico, sleep will get better after some time in treatment. Once you re-balance your body to certain levels, you will sleep like a baby. It wasn't too long before my sleep improved and kept improving as time went on. I don't have much problem with frequency. If you do, once your frequency goes down, you should be able to sleep. It is a complex system, and some parts of fine tuning respond better and/or faster than others, but it works.
Blondy,
Blondy,
Thanks for your sunny confidence that things will improve. It's something we all need to keep in our hearts.

I had issues with falling
I had issues with falling asleep when I was in early treatment. Well I would be tired but I could not fall asleep before 2 am and then I could sleep but I was always tired! This got fixed evenutally but I was still a night owl after that. One thing you may try is this- get a black contoured for your eyes sleep mask.
Amazon has one for like 8 or 9 bucks and they are AMAZING. Strap that thing on leave your eyes open at first in the nice comfy eye pocket and then do some deep breathing and it can really really relax you. Combine it with meditation and you all could benefit especially folks that have stressed nervous systems.
I actually find it very hard to stay awake with these things on. Try it out.
here is the link to the one I got. Enjoy!

I wanted everyone to know I
I wanted everyone to know I slept 6 hours straight last night. (maybe that was because I didn't sleep a wink the night before!) Interestingly enough, I'm having a lot of pain this morning, though. But you have to be happy about what's happening right and work through the pain I guess.
