Dairy and PMS

Hi Girls,

I am 8 months in treatment and currently going through raging PMS - emotionally wrecked, severe insomnia, boobs and belly so swollen I look and feel pregnant, food cravings, non-stop eating, barely functional...the whole nine yards.  This is highly unsual for me and I know it can be part of treatment...emotional die-off etc...but I am almost thinking it can be dairy in my case. I am on List 3 and only in the last 2 months started eating organic cheese and yogurt and that's when this started....with this month being severe. I am sure it's all part of an imbalance that will eventually go away...but it seems dairy is triggering this. Any one else?? Anybody relate dairy to hormonal imbalance?

Thanks Claire

I had a phase where my diet was not ideal and it affected my cycles. She told me to upgrade and clean up my diet ( less quality and I was not getting enough red meat) and see what happens.
I also had an earlier phase in treatment where some deep cleansing/die off was going on where my periods were yucky and that cleared up. IT can vary so MUCH! Try taking it out and see what happens. I tend to have times where my body just does not seem to want Dairy and times when it does or goes well. You may be able to handle dairy great 6 months from now without a hitch. Also,as long as its raw milk cheese and healthier dairy it may not be caused by the diary. 8 months is not that long into treatment so its possible things are just stirred up and they are in the process of being rebalanced. I think diary can be harder to digest than other things we eat so its possible it is that. Don't assume it will stick around though. Everything is so dynamic about this treatment. Shifting and changing constantly while the healing is going on.

Thanks Honeybee! Hmm that's interesting...I do buy organic/ grassfed beef etc....but maybe I haven't eaten enough lately. How much are we suppose to eat each day? You think after 8 months I'd know lol!
Yes from 4 months in there has been major, constant die-off, intense but I know it's all good. This has just thrown me for a loop and of course I'm trying to justify it or control it somehow uurgg...gotta let go...but if there's something I can do to curb this PMS I'm in!
She switched up my herbs too but so far no relief.
Thanks
Claire

How are you, Claire? I really would say I HATE the PMS so much as you know! I somehow doubt it has to do with dairy but you never know. My hormones have been all over the place throughout this treatment and for a few months in there, the PMS was negligible. The past few months have been murder- as in I am going to murder someone or they will nurder me! LOL- Actually it is NOT funny! But I have to laugh because it is NOT ME- it is my chemistry. I can look in the mirror at this time and say"You are so fat" even while putting on size 4 or I can say to my friend who happened to catch me at a really bad moment"I htink Roba nd I are going to have to separate" Seriously nutty. Anyway- Hang in there and prepeare for it- it is the best you can do. I tell Rob- "next week will be a little rocky" and I also try to find more time to myself because it only seems to be other people who trigger the rage for me (staples guy???)

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!! It will. I've 'cured" my PMS in the past but obviously I can't use any of those herbs now but I know it is possible and we will be balanced- hopefully sooner rather than later for you!
(((((HUG)))))

Deir my buddy! Thanks as always for your support! I know! This sh*ts crazy!!! I still haven't got my period...but the insanity has subsided thank god!!! You could have locked me up and thrown away the key!!! Really scarey!!! I hope you are doing okay and it's not kicking your as*!
I think the dairy really effects my hormones....especially the bloating and insane tender boobs. There is def some sort of connection with me....right before treatment I had a weird dairy habit...I drank milk constantly...like an addict...it was weird...I couldn't get enough. Dr. B thought it was strange too and was actually worried about me giving up milk and told me I could stay on it for a while. But I wanted to do the protocol to a T so I gave it up and have been fine...but as usual adding yogurt and cheese back in... I think I'm overdoing it!!
Obviously there are other factors in play too - with the overall imbalance - but for me I think dairy complicates things :(

It is so hard not to overdo it when the diet is so limited. I wish I could eat greek yougurt 3 times a day but I try to limit it. I think I might be overdong the mozzarella too. Funny ,because, I never used to be a dairy person at all. But when you need to eat protein all the time, it becomes easier to eat a cheese stick than a chicken leg!

Claire, so glad the PMS has calmed down! I turn into a crazy person too, I agree lock me up, no one is safe from my crazy emotions! I am glad you seem to have found a connection, but poor you, why must it be dairy?! I haven't really found a connection with mine, that I can tell. This will all smooth out as you get stronger, I'm sure. Hope your period comes soon and can move past this. Hang in there girl!:)
