Ok, this WEIRD... I know that IC can cause muscle pain and fibromyalgia, but I don't really understand what that means and I haven't had either of those as predominant symptoms... HOWEVER, I have had strange pains, almost like bruises, in areas of my body where my bones are close to the surface of my skin.
The first time I had it it was in the back of my rib cage. It was on my left side. It stayed for a few weeks, and then I noticed it would come and go on my left side. Sometimes it felt like the bone was popping out in a strange way. Anyway, it went away and I thought little of it afterwards...
But just now I noticed the STRANGEST thing and I wondered if it could be related or if it's something totally separate (I tend to think everything is related though...). I have been coughing a lot because of my GERD... maybe this exacerbated it... but I was feeling like I had a rash on my upper chest (I've been having skin problems lately), and went to touch the spot that felt irritated and was surprised to feel that same bruised bone feeling when I did.. not only that but there is a bone like mass protruding.
It feels almost as if the bone has split and a part of it is just sticking out now... It's almost midnight and of course I will talk to a real doctor about this if I think it's serious, but I did just want to check if anyone knows whether or not bone deficiency, or weakness, or something that would explain this strange strange phenomanon could be IC related... I just don't believe that I have a trillion different things wrong with my body, I tend to think they are all due to the same problem...
Wanted to check in to since I just don't know enough about the body to say whether or not this is really a bone thing, maybe this is a muscular symptom? Anyone have any ideas?
SO WEIRD! What an amazingly complex body we have.
Take care

???? I know that some of the discomfort is probably lymph moving, getting stuck, and moving again. Your body doing miraculous work. Have to ask Dr. B about the bone stuff. She has heard it all.
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.

So for future reference in case anyone else has this issue, I spoke with my herbalist and a friend in nursing school and whose mother is an M.D., both said that this is not necessarily anything to worry about, especially if it's not causing any particular pain and is most likely a calcium deposit/build up which can occur when the body isn't absorbing nutrients properly.
