Hi... silly question ... but I burnt my finger on a flat iron about a week ago, I didn't think it was that bad but its infected now. Does anyone have any suggestions of something natural I can use on it that's antibacterial/antiseptic? I've been using polysporin on it, but I don't feel like it's helping much and also I know we are supposed to avoid these things if possible.
Thanks!
Megan
You may wanna ask Dr.B
You may wanna ask Dr.B depending on how sensitive you are but I use tea tree oil for an antiseptic or hydrogen peroxide if i have cuts...
For the future , when you can apply oils liberally after treatment , lavender is excellent for curing burns...I had a massive burn on my arm when I was 16 and using lavender daily made it go away entirely ....but essential oils now flare me if I put too much on my skin ....but tea tree and hydrogen peroxide seem to treat me well if I have cuts...feel better !!
PS I burned my arm that way last week on my curling iron lol ...go us ;)
When I burn myself, I
When I burn myself, I immediately run cold water over the burned area for several minutes until the pain subsides. This usually prevents blistering if it is a fairly small minor burn. I know this doesn't help your current situation, but I thought I would share this anyway.
I'm sure Dr. B will have a good solution for you :)
Yes, I agree with what
Yes, I agree with what everyone else has said. When I had an infected cut she told me to apply goldenseal either the liquid kind in alcohol stings a bit, or can use goldenseal powder for a cap and mix with a little oil or lotion to apply to the infected area! Worked wonders on a nasty infected sore on my foot! Hope this helps!
Hi
Hi
i burnt myself quite badly recently by missing my mouth and tipping boiling hot water down myself!! Dr B told me to use egg white as long as the burn wasn't blistering - would never have thought of that. Not sure it's suitable for an infected burn but you could ask her about it ! ?
Hope you heal soon
