Hi,

I apologize if this topis has already been discussed.. I am new, filled out the patient forum and just waiting for my appointment.

Should I bring anything with me to the first appointment? I am travelling from Canada and don't want to forget anything..

Are there any restaurants nearby that serve fresh (unprocessed food), and what about accomodations ?  Is there a place nearby to stay so that I can walk to my appointment?

I am excited and nervous at the same time, but most of all I am very ready to heal.

Does anybody know if sweet potatoes are allowed for newbies?

Sincerely,
Amanda

Welcome Amanda! I brought all of my test results to my first appointment but you don’t really need them.  Dr. B was more concerned about my symptoms and the state of my bladder.  The time with her does go really quickly so make a list of questions you may have for her.  As far as hotels, you can call Lynn at the office for some recommendations.  She was extremely helpful when I flew in from Montreal.  During my 3-day stay in LA, I went to Whole Foods and purchased some veggies, rice cakes and water.  We ate at a steak house close to the hotel, which was great.  My advice to you would be to plan ahead and make a list of places you can eat at.  I hope all goes well for you and best of luck.

What part of Canada are you from?

Hi Amanda,
i too brought labs and former IC tests, which weren't needed.  What did help me was giving her information about any major or chronic illness,  hospitalizations, continuous medication useage, and current problems.  Welcome!
