My 9 year old son had to take a course of abx for a serious wound he had about 2 months ago and since then , his behavior issues have increased! He tends toward the angry, violent, outbursts but his behavior had improved so much in the past few years, I chalked it up to maturity. But since the abx, he seems to be worse and I don't know if it is coincedental or what. I am gving him probiotics and CLO and I htink I will tak ehime to our homeopath because maybe she can help with a constitutional remedy. it si really hard to handle right now. This morning he was screaming and slamming doors. Saying awful things to me. Then I have a very difficult time controlling my own temper- it's a family disease! Ugh Has anyone ever experienced this with abx?
The last time he was on them was when he was 3 and had Lymes and I always swore his personality changed a bit after that too. it is so hard to tell what is just developmental/experiential or physiological. Whatever it is it stinks.
LOL. Well I am glad you are
LOL. Well I am glad you are keeping an eye on things, but from one mom of a 9 year old to another, I just have one word: DRAMA!!!! Who knew? My daughter can be so dramatic. My therapist said to be sure that 9 year olds have their say, and are able to express their opinion, however irrational. They need to be heard and nothing more, and maybe even deferred to at times or "indulged" in some small way, to support their opinion. Nine is tough. I thought maybe it was just girls, then I was walking by a neighbor's the other day and hear a boy YELLING at his parents. I mean, REALLY yelling! I looked at them. They were in shock. Then I asked "Is your son 9?" They looked at me and said "yes" and we all laughed.
You are doing all you can with the probiotics and a consitutional/homeopathic remedy to boost his immunity will be awesome. Good mommy! Hang in there!
If we don't excel at health, the only other option is disease.
My 5 year old grandson really
My 5 year old grandson really gets horrible to deal with when he is on Antibiotics. Often it gets blamed on his being sick but I wonder if its that or the meds...maybe both. He is not on a Probiotic unfortunately...his mama is a nurse and they don't really believe in such things :( Hang in there Deir. I raised 3 children and many times all I could focus on was "and this too shall pass"...
thanks! I am sure some of it
thanks! I am sure some of it is age related but it just seems exaggerated since he had the abx. I am sure there is a connection. I hate the darn things. But glad your 9 year old is also giving you trouble- I am not alone!
yes- patty- This too shall pass!
