Visible blood in urine, no pain, what could this mean?

Hello Everyone!

My mom is having blood in her urine, but experiencing no pain at all. The blood seemed to not be visible this morning, but was present all day yesterday. We were in a car accident over 2 weeks ago, I went to the hospital via ambulance my mom did not seem to be injured at that time. A week ago was complaining of back pain, but seemed to resolve, and then week later peeing blood. Do you think sounds possible an injury to kidneys would just now show blood. Kind of worried she's not having pain with that much blood to be visible and then vanish as quickly as came on. From what I have read is a tell tail sign of cancer, or some type of tumor for blood to present one day and not the next especially with no pain involved. She can't get in to see urologist for a week. Anyone else ever experience this and just turn out to be an infection? I am opposite always have pain and no infection and she has never had a UTI or anything before.

Hi Cprince - Did your mom ever find out what was going on?

Hi Alishia! No. Not yet had a urology appointment yesterday and still had lots of blood and they said the prettiest most fascinating crystals they have ever seen but no infection. She has a CT scan tomorrow. Her mom died of kidney disease after being on dialysis so hopefully nothing serious. She has had no pain associated with all this until the Dr started messing with things during her exam and now she's in a lot of pain, why I avoid urologists like the Black Plague. Hopefully nothing serious comes of all this, just one more thing to stress me out over!
