Forums:
I was wondering if anyone has a cheaper option of ordering their probiotics other than using Natren.com and/or wholefoods.
I have used www.outletnutrition.com and really like thir prices. However they do not pack the parcel with enough ice and by the time it gets to me it is warm. I prefer to order from them only in the winter (I am in the midwest).
Natren.com does a great job about keeping the meds cool, but they are $10 more per bottle. Any suggestions will be most helpful.
Thanks!
I won't be much help...
Hi, I was wondering the same thing, but in Europe.
I'm now ordering from:
http://www.gandginfo.com/en/shop/index.phpcPath=398&osCsid=cf25327e63e8e...
it's quite pricey. The probiotics were almost warm when they got to me and they were out of stock on one item without telling me. They just wrote a note saying: out of stock, will reship.
Great. Anyone living in Europe?
Probiotics
Hi ballerine, I'm in UK and get my probiotics from Biocare who have a good reputation but they are VERY expensive. I've been taking them for a while and recently had a stool test which showed low levels of Bifidus and Lactobacillus, so either they're not very effective or maybe the antibiotics I took for months is responsible. I can't tolerate the lactic acid in live yoghurt.
A friend has recommended Kefir which is a fermented milk drink (originally from Turkey) made from live bacteria cultures - you can buy yr own culture starter kit which I guess would be much cheaper than capsules and can use any type of milk as a base. It sounds very similar to yoghurt but sellers' blurb says that:"Kefir contains more organisms than yoghurt, and the normal flora in kefir is made of very strong strains of micro organisms (unlike yoghurt). It is considered to be a more natural way to add good bacteria to the digestive tract, and these strains are superior to any capsules which might contain organisms that have been dried. The cultures on kefir are active and growing when they enter the body".
I think it will prob be too acidic for me but maybe useful for those who can tolerate the level of acidity in yoghurt?
ordering probiotics
I use outletnutrition.com they have natren I pay 24 for the bifido factor and the megadophilis dairy free 90 capsules. They ship with ice. I rush delivery so that it is still cold when it arrives. If i go to wholefoods I pay the same but only 30 capsules.
I herb is great but you can
I herb is great but you can only get the megadophils the biofactor is only in powder and that has added vit c. It's too bad because it's sent in these great coolers and it was very cold when I got it. They require over night shipping but it's not too bad price wise. I wish they would carry the larger sizes too.
thanks :)
Hi, thank you for the kefir advice. I was drinking it a lot before treatment, every day actually. It would be great to make some home made kefir, but I'd have to ask Dr. Brizman when I can start eating it. For now, I'm on list one.
I'm going to compare prices with the website you gave me! thanks for the recommendation, I appreciate it :)
probiotics
Soo- the Megadophilus and the superdolphilus dairy free caps by Natren are the same thing? I found the Megadolphilus at a store here in SC. I understand that the Megadolphilus is equivalent to the superdolphilus which I had been ordering from Natren. I found it through a chain called The Vitamin Shoppe. I think I paid 31.00 for the 90 caps? I did notice that the Superdolphius has 4% vitamin C in it and the Megadolphilus has 5% vitamin C. I wonder if that much more is enough to bring on increased sensitivity? Has anyone switched from Superdolphilus to Megadolphilus and noticed a difference?
Just wondering...
Thank you!

I did switch from Superdophilus to Megadophilus and did not notice a change. You are definately getting a deal for $31.00. I am in Canada and pay $32.00 for 60m caps.
