Cosmetics to Avoid

If you're like me and you like to experiment with cosmetics from time to time even though you know it's dangerous and can trigger your symptoms -- you'll probably want to avoid anything that has Cyclopentasiloxane in it. This nasty little bugger can take my relatively symptom-free bladder and transform in an exploding-balloon bladder in under an hour. It's in a number of foundations and concealers, such as Lancome Flash Retouche concealer and Makeup Forever Mattifying foundation. It's also found in a number of sexual lubricants.

The makeup I tend to use every day that doesn't trigger my symptoms includes:
Cover Girl Aquasmooth foundation
Becca Concealer
Mac fluidline eyeliner
Lancome definicils mascara

I plan to switch over to Organic, aluminum-free, paraben-free makeup when I'm fully recovered, but for the moment I am afraid to experiment with that stuff because it has so many added vitamins that can trigger my symptoms.

being that this is my industry I thought I would say that I have found some basic things that seem good for IC. First off I have to say I will be trying these. I used to use Aveda for mascara but Its been a long while and I threw out my box so I don't know the full list of Ingredients. So I am going to list some that do have full lists I have not tried these personally but I do plan on it and if I like them i intend to carry them in the spa.

mascara
Natural Mascara by Earths Beauty
Ingredients:
water, candelilla wax, organic beeswax, glycerin, glyceryl stearate (coconut derived), aloe vera, proprietary herbal extract blend, grapefruit seed extract, iron oxide, mica.

Mascara by Real Purity
Purified water, beeswax, vegetable glycerin, candellila wax, cellulose, pure plant extracts (sage, ivy, grapeseed extract), iron oxides.

Eye liner
Loose Powder Eye Liner by Earths Beauty
New formula! Arrowroot, serecite mica, and iron oxides.

All the pencil formulas seem to have vit e in them so I would learn to apply your eyeliner with a brush. Most these days do no use a pencil anymore it is hard line and bad on the eyes anyway.

I found the lip liners have vit e in them as well I will continue this search more for a future post.
I would use Matia's lip gloss with tint.

Loose Powder Eye Shadow by Earths Beauty
Organic/wild-crafted arrowroot, magnesium stearate, iron oxides, may contain ultramarine blue, manganese violet. Pearl also contains titanium dioxide. Sunlight also contains mica.

Lipstick by Real Purity
Candellila wax, beeswax, aloe vera extract, sweet almond oil, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, kaolin, pycnogenol.

Loose Foundation Powder Plus SPF15 by Earth's Beauty
organic arrowroot, kaolin, magnesium stearate, zinc stearate, zinc oxide, and iron oxides.

It's very hard to find natural makeup that doesn't have vit e or C because it it a preservative the thing that is even more difficult to avoid is the zink oxides but I never found a problem with these as most of them are in the end of the list so they aren't too bad.

I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting this here.
