Wow! I have gone almost a month with minimal to no symptoms.  I developed IC 15 months ago and have been under treatment with Dr. Brizman for 8 months.  Although I know I still have a long road ahead of me, I feel that I am making great progress.  I am aware that at any time my symptoms may return as they have in the past, but this is the first time that I have gone this long without much discomfort.  I just thought I would share this with all of you since just a couple of months ago I truly believed that I would never have a good day again.  I know what it is like to think that I am the only one who will not get better. Thanks to those of you who encouraged me to continue.  I told Dr. B. that I actually feel my body fighting this diseasePlease do not give up..........there is hope.  esalinas

I am really happy for you Esalinas.  I also agree that hearing stories like this is so encouraging.  I am 4 months into treatment and have seen much improvement but do look forward to having a month or more of no symptoms.  I know I will get there and hearing stories like yours makes me believe it even more.  Reading your post this morning made me enjoy my spinach and zuchini and egg that moch more this morning lol... becasue I knew that there was a purpose for eating these things at breakfast.

Hope is so important. Thanks for sharing with us. It is really helpful to hear of others' progress. Like u say, encouragement really helps those of us who are struggling. On bad days it can be difficult to believe good days can happen. I have my first appointment with Matia soon - finally got the courage to face the long trip from UK and feel very positive about starting treatment and looking forward to it. I would be interested in hearing from other (especially long distance) patients who have just started or are just starting treatment.
