Buckwheat and diet

Hello to all, hello to Dr. Brizman,

I am not the patient of Dr. Brizman at the moment but I´m seriously thinking about it. I suffer with IC very much and things slowly become worse so I decided to try the diet recommendations of Dr. Brizman. And I would like to ask about eating buckwheat which I did not find in any list of food published here. I found buckwheat dis often recommended as a component of anti-candida diet instead of grains as wheat etc. I like buckwheat very much. Is eating of buckwheat a big problem during Dr. Brizman´s diet?

Many thanks,

Michaela

My subject line says it all and you will frequently hear it on this website: "We are all different"  For me... potatoes and spelt set me off but I can tolerate regular white flour.  I don't know if buckwheat is allowed at all, but don't be surprised if you are set off by it because grains can be problematic for a lot of people.  I think rice is the safest and there are  a lot of rice products out there including: rice bread, tortillas, pasta, wrappers, etc.  Hope this helps.  In addition to being Dr. Brizman's patients, my two children also suffer from IC as well and are her patients too.  I absolutely believe in her abilities to get you better!

I have not seen rice tortillas do you make them or do you know of a tolerated brand? My only grain is rice and i can't have that bread because of the other things in it. I would love to have tortillas
thanks

The grains are so tricky and I think are the least tolerated for most people. I don't do well at all on buckwheat.i never heard it being used for yeast. I think that might be because it is gluten free. You might try quinoa. Currently my only grain is rice but I think in the early stages it's best to go very simple so that you can tell what is effecting you. Once you get your pain to a more stable state that will be much easier for you to know what is good for you personally and what is not.
I want to welcome you to the first step in healing and I hope you do decide to begin treatment with Dr. Brizman.

Great question!  I love buckwheat b/c it is not a grain; I sometimes eat the hot cereal version, just made with water, nothing else in it.  it can irritate my bladder but not horribly; you may be able to tolerate it and you may not
