Catalina, Do you know if BomaSense makes a shampoo and conditioner? I thought that it was recommended on this site and I haven't found it on BomaSense. I am looking forward to reading the replies to this post!
There used to be bomasence shampoo and conditoner I liked the shampoo but the conditoner didn't detangle I don't know what happened to it. I use the one on the gentle products guide and also callifornia baby. The CA baby one is almost identical to Matia's with a little varriance. I imagine the vit E.It is litterly imposible to find a shampoo conditoner with out this.
I am also interested in any natural styling products that you are using. My current products are filled with chemicals and I would like to go natural. Affordable products are prefferd LOL.Sharon
Nicole, Thanks for the shampoo and conditioner tips. It is great to have someone with your product knowledge give advice. I am looking forward to trying them!P.S. I didn't see shampoo or conditioner mentioned in the Gentle Products Guide on-line. Does Dr. Brizman give you a more extensive list after your first appointment? Also, do you use setting lotion or hairspary?
I don't use any hair spray. Matia didn't give me any extra list it kind of just changes as you go and it is different for each person You have to ask her personally. Some people may be more senstive then others. My hair has a style that doesn't require a lot . I sometimes use Aveda be curly and sometimes I just use a tad of conditoner and water and make sure to set my curls I have curly short hair. I actually cut it real short this yr to make life easy on me. My headaches and my intolerance to the heat here it was so liberating to cut all my hair off.

I went over some of my products I have been using because I seem to be having a bit of an increase in symptoms. One of the things that Matia suggested I change was my shampoo as it had coconut high on the list of ingredients. She too suggested the California Baby (which we don't have in Canada) and also Thera Neem which I found at my local health store but also Matia has on her site to order. Another suggestion was the Nature's Gate with aloe. It seems that we need to watch aloe but in this particular brand seems to be okay for some. It seems that we should not have anything too flowery or with tea tree, aloe or coconut oil (or at least these things should not be one of the main ingredients. Again it seems that we are all different in what we can tolerate but these were some of the suggestions for my particular situation. Best to ask Matia for her suggestion with your particular case.
YOu can purchace CA baby products online too. http://www.californiababy.com/
I have used the thera neem I think that it does cause some burning. We are all different. The CA baby conditoner does kinda take a bit to detangle thats my only issue I have curly hair and so I end up using a bit more.
I just saw they do not list the ingredients so Here is the link to the dermstore where you can see what the ingredients are. http://www.dermstore.com/profile_California+Baby_500148.htm
Thanks Nicole for this link. I do drive down to the U.S to get water monthly so will look for it in the stores. Their website says that you can get California Baby at Target. I hope the Neem doesn't cause burning will keep that in mind.
So I tried the Neem shampoo and I found I was not sensitive to it. It doesn't smell bad or anything but its not exactly the prettiest smell its fine actually but it did make my hair look good and shiny I really didn't need much conditioner either. I used a bit of jojoba oil that was diluted and rinsed it out. I use a kiss my face brand plain olive oil soap. I liked the Bomasense body wash. I think I even used the scented kind in early treatment and that was ok for me but I don't know.I tried to get the Californina Baby but my health food store says its so popular that they seem to have trouble keeping the orders filled on the regular so they stopped ordering from them. I think they are still kind of a small company? i never got to try it!
I finally found a good shampoo and conditioner for my hair! Thera Neem and Nature's Gate with Aloe made my hair look very greasy. I tried Claifornia Baby, but they changed their shampoo formula. Now, it contains coconut oil. Last week, I switched to Nature's Gate Herbal Shampoo & Conditioner and it cleans my hair withour leaving build-up (Matia said I could also try Nature's Gate Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner).
My other dilema was how to style my hair without using bad hair products. I put Jason's Curl Creme in my hair before blowdrying it. Then I roll my hiar in 1 1/2 inch rollers. I then brush my hair into a style and it looks like I have a professional blowout! Sometimes I need to touch up a few peices with a curling iron. Hope this helps :o)
Hi !
I remember using the Olive&Grape Shampoo and Conditioner from Avalon Organics, they are unscented and mostly organic and I found that the shampoo cleaned my hair very well without stripping it from it’s moisture. Conditioner was good too.
If you are very sensitive to products, I’d check with Matia. I did fine with these.
Shampoo:
I have naturally wavy-curly hair (about 2c3a if you know about Curly Girl), and my favourite gel is actually from Aubrey Organics. It is really great, has great hold, but doesn’t feel crunchy, the smell is fine (nothing extraordinary, but gentle and natural) and it’s easy to find in healthfood stores.
