My husband and I were recently given free airline tickets to the Bahamas for the weekend.  I would lik to stay on the list 1 diet.  Have any of you traveled with a cooler?  I read that you could pack frozen items in a cooler and carry a small amount of fresh produce in your carry on bag?  Have any of you tried this?  We are not renting a car and will not be near a grocery store.  Any tips would be appreciated.

I called the airlines and learned a few good tips.  Most airlines let you bring a hard cooler with frozen food.  It needs to be secured with luggage straps.  Everything must be frozen solid.  Frozen water in bottles will keep things cool.  Wrapped food can be brought on the plane but no liquids over 3 oz.  Not only am I going to stay on the diet but also save a ton of money =-)

Nicole,    We are planning on eating out the last day of our vacation.  My husband just finished a nutrition class and is now into eating better as well.  Chris said that Matia's diet is amazing and could have come right out of a nutrition textbook.  I am so glad that he has started eating better because he was addicted to drinkng Cokes and diet 7-up.    It's amazing how we ended up going on this trip.  Basically, Chris gave a financial gift to a friend in need.  Then we ended up being given two free plane tickets and a generous birthday gift in the same week.  If we pack our own food, our trip is going to be so affordable.   I am praying that I will feel up to the snorkle trip Chris booked.

I just got back from my trip and it was a huge success!  My husband bought an insulated cooler that looked just like a suitcase.  The only scary part was getting through customs in the Bahamas.  When I saw that every suitcase was being searched, I started praying for favor.  Later I found out that my dad was praying for the same thing.  Miracoulously, the security guard let us walk through because they were getting a little backed up.  On the trip, I put everything in the freezer at the hotel and room serveice heated up the food as needed.  When we took day trips, I put my lunch in a small lunchbox.  I also put the lunch box in my purse on the trip home.  I was so thankful that I could successfully travel with IC.
