i was curious as to how many
i was curious as to how many carbs everyone eats a day? i dont think im eating enough, but i get scared b/c of the yeast!even though i eat protein or veggies with it, i still cant help but feel like im contributing to the yeast, would love some input!:)
I really just judge by eye...
I really just judge by eye... I never mesure or weigh any of my food. So I can't help with grams or whatever.Snacks are veggies for now, or a balanced 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 protein, carbs, veggies.Breakfast: 3 eggs, leftover veggies (salad, brocoli, etc.) or steamed spinach and one small spelt toast piece under each egg.Lunch: Salad topped with piece of fish/meat + 2 or 3 little potatoes or a couple of table spoons of hot rice.Supper, similar to breakfast or lunch. How much carbs do you eat?
For breakfast I eat 2 slices
For breakfast I eat 2 slices of kamut bread and I spread either 1 very large or 2 small soft avocados on each of them and I put a slice of applegate farms turkey on each.
1 midmorning snack:10 potato chips (sea salt/oil of avocado or olive oil) and some celery sticks or a cucumber
Lunch: fish or chicken with vegetable medley (no carbs)
Dinner: lamb or beef with veggies and a couple of small red potatoes.Or chicken broth with a veggie/ground lamb muffin I bake.Or beefstew with veggies only and a bit of black rice, the "forbidden rice" they sell in Wholefoods is my favorite.
Sliced Turkey? Stew?
Hi Natasha149,Very curious about the turkey you use. I thought we weren't allowed to eat any cold cuts, so i have avoided them these past 9 months. Is the brand you mentioned one that we can eat? THat would be so exciting!!!Also, how do you make your stew? Would love a new cooking idea because i am so tired of eating the SAME thing over and over.thanks.
I eat Applegate farms turkey
I eat Applegate farms turkey and ham, Matia approved it for me, check with her first of course. Be carefull though, some kinds come with 1 or even 2 grams of sugar that come from honey glaze, so I stay away from those.
For the stew (lamb or beef):put beef or lamb cubes for kebobs(2 lbs) in a cast iron pot and all the veggies you can tolerate, depending on the list you are on: I put shreded garlic, brussel sprouts, bell peppers, cabbage, eggplants, asparagus, zuccini, tomatoes (if you tolerate them, totally delicious without it too), 1 or 2 potatoes only to minimize carbs. A carot, if it is ok for you. Pour some olive oil, and water, cover up and simmer for about 1 @ 1/2 hrs or till meat is ready. Add salt, basil, dill, garlic powder, oregano, rosemary, whatever you are allowed, salt and pepper to taste 10 minutes before turning it off. I even substitute potatoes for brown or black rice, but cook it beforehand and then mix it in. It makes it a perfect and complete meal.
Enjoy!
