Problems with olive oil

Today, I had major flares after lunch and dinner. Both meals contained Great Value olive oil.  I am wonderfing if regular olive oil could case problems.  The other ingredients were on list 1.  Do you think buying a higher quality of olive could make a difference?

apparently some folks can react to plain old olive oil. sometimes we can react to things that didn't make us react before. sometimes our products have things in them we didn't realize. I found what I thought was plain pure non extra virinolive oil. that's what it said on the package. Then I looked at thelabel ingredients and it said it contained a blend of pure plain and extra virgin olive oils. I found one I like and I don't react to it. you are early in treatment so maybe its one of the things that you are discerning could flare you and before you didn't know cause you were more inflamed all the time? I have heard of folks reacting to olive oil. hope this is helpful. cut it out if it continues to do it and then try it a few weeks later. Mary

I wonder if extra virgin olive oil is more acidic than the lighter version?  I do not tolerate olive oil at all.  Maybe you could test out some other brands?

the difference between extra virgin olive oil and olive oil is the amount of times it has been filtered. non extra virgin olive oil has been filtered out more then virgin olive oil. You might try extra light olive oil that has been filtered even more then regular olive oil so it should be easier to tolerate. Also different brands might effect you more. Look for one that is very light in color the more clear the less it should effect you.

Great ideas!  I was wondering about light tasting olive oil.  Looking for light color makes sense.  Matia said that she had read an article a while back that said that some companies are putting different types of oil in their olive oil.  Do any of you have a favorite brand of olive oil? I am thinking of trying something more fancier than great value LOL.
