I have a question about pollution, does anyone know whether it influences the treatment if you are living in a polluted area? I live in Belgium and I know that the city where I have been living all my life is quite polluted, most countries and areas are more polluted nowadays but I wonder whether this can contribute to our healing process? Not that it would be possible to move to another city but I was just wondering...
Thanks,
Vicky
Pollution
Vicky;I definitely think pollution can make things worse. I live in the USA in a valley where the air pollution is known to be a problem. All my health issues are worse here as compared to when I leave the valley to visit my son, who lives in another part of the state in which I live. I do think pollution can have an impact. My husband and I are very seriously thinking of moving. Most of the issues living around here are with sinus problems. My husband has them too. We all know that allergy type reactions can make IC worse. My sinus and bladder issues seem to improve when I leave the area for a few days. It took me years to notice this. I think air pollution is everywhere, but some areas seem to be worse than others.
I live in the heart of New
I live in the heart of New York City and you can only imagine the level of pollution here. Never the less I manged to get better and stay better for a long time before relapsing, and that was totally my fault. I remember asking Matia in the very beginning if living here would impact the treatment in the negative way, but she said then that the person should be able to tolerate his/her enviroment and get better regardless.
Pollution
She told me the same thing in beginning of treatment - that we should be able to live in any environment and still get well. She has since changed her mind with me. She now thinks that whatever is pollluting the air in the valley in which I live is keeping my immune system from improving. Probably because it has to keep fighting off the impurities in my environment. She advised me to move if I could.
Clueless do you mind my asking...
... what valley you live in? I'm in the US too and curious if it's the same valley. Or even if it's not, still to do research to compare it to where I live. Is the issue for you just the overall pollution being trapped in the valley area? Is part of it proximity to freeways ... or something else?
Thanx.
