I'm having a hard time with my menstrual cycle, I will have my period one of these days and it still feels so horrible.
My legs hurt, my abdomen, my lower back, I'm only in treatment for 5.5 months but I always get discouraged when I'm around my period/ovulation.
Are there other people who had horrible cycle pains and needed a long time before these pains started to decrease?
It also takes away my energy, I sleep well most of the time but I still feel exhausted in the morning.
Thanks,
Vicky

Yes! I would say many of us are dealing with increased levels of pain conncted to the mentral cycle. I especially notice symptoms increase either during ovulation and either right before or right after my period. I have felt some interesting and confusing fluctuations in my cycle throughout treatment. For example- it took me about 7-8 months before I noticed any significant improvement in my cycleand even then it was not without some continuing discomfort. Then when I hit the year mark- (I'm about 15 months in treatment) it seemed as though my periods actually worsened in sense. As I bled - the blood would irritate my vaginal tissues and this made the vulvadynia and my bladder feel pretty aweful. I had very intense cramping for the last 15 years of my menstral cycle. This has improved slowly into a shallow pressure sensation- which is much preferrable to the stabbing abdominal pain I had before. The last period I had was actually much better and less intense. I think they are improving again. So to answer your question- yes as a general rule of thumb -please give yourself lots and lots of time to get better.I know it is very easy to get discouraged especially when the pain is so bad and so draining- its hard to beleive anything is changing at all for the better but you are still early in treatment and things are changing in ways we can't see or feel. Chinese medicine is apparently very effective in treating conditions like the one you and me are dealing with- its just very very very slow. I imagine for myself there is alot going on- I imagine as my body is being brought into balence that the areas of stagnation(pain) - fibrous growths in my pelvis? are being dissolved- But you will get there and you will have a pain free period. So far I see my body making the changes I thought would never happen and its not a question of if its going to happen but just- when. You may even get some improvement and then for a little while things feel bad again. This is normal- uncomfortable but normal. It will pass. Thank you. peace and healing to youMary

I am not in treatment with Matia yet, I am just doing the diet as of now while I save. I can say for sure my frequency increases at ovulation, and right before my cyle begins and the first day or two. Also, a few days before it starts I get a surge of energy and then the day before I want to sleep all day. I had my adrenals checked and they were out of whack, so for me it could be that for me.
